The standard of trialists at Newton Spurs was pretty average with only a couple coming away with any credit or who looked even vaguely that they could step up and make an impression.
I doubt Nicholson will be offering any of them a contract in all honesty his remaining "Sheckels" will have to be spent wisely or not at all he should and we should be patient while he attempts to complete the jigsaw.
Judgments should be made after we play our first eleven against proper opposition starting on Wednesday against BC.

Gibson has something about him for certain, showed in flashes on Tuesday that he has plenty of ability and looked like a footballer who could play at this level.
The right age with time to develop into a good player if he has the right attitude. Only problem is players don't get the pitch time if you want a successful team "NOW" all of us want individuals and a squad that perform from day one.
We have little time to wait for players to develop especially if they demand a first team wage and when you look back on the likes of Courtney Cameron, Nathan Craig etc you have to wonder.
Probably a luxury or a gamble we cannot afford at this moment in time but who knows what the manager is thinking?

Have to admit Aus, that playing Roscoe Arbuckle must be a kick in the teeth for the trialists and that most if not all the SG goals came from gifted clearances and poor marking.

I agree that it's hard to get 16 or so lads to gel together, but you expect them to get the basics right.
