I've just got home from Tiverton and am still recovering from the shock of what I have just witnessed.
We were totally out played, out classed, out thought.
The young goalie Osborne was out of his depth. Just hope Clarke isn't injured. The young development goalie who came on near the end made several excellent save.
The defence was virtually non existent. Those who say McGinty has improved should have seen him tonight. Hoof, hoof, hoof. The right back Higgins went missing several times with huge gaps down the right. Their first goal had their left back running the whole length of the pitch with the ball without being stopped.
Midfield seemed to be totally disorganised. They did pass the ball around quite prettily amongst themselves sometimes. Good passes forward were few and far between.
The "attack" consisted of a short black player (sorry don't know his name) who seemed to be centre forward and Keating who spent a lot of time on the left wing in the first half.
If we play like that in the league we'll be lucky to get a goal let alone a win.
I'm afraid I could find no positives at all.
With the new players coming in supposedly better than those who left I was quite confident about the coming season. However having seen most of them in action tonight my optimism has totally evaporated and am now feeling totally depressed.
I have resisted the temptation to blame the manager, but someone is responsible for the total disorganization I saw tonight. Make your own decision.
