First chance for many to see the new squad that Nico has assembled.

Entertaining game with 1700 or so there (800 from Argyle) with the Greens running out winners 2 nil.
4 keys players missing from the line up - Gowling, Pittman, Anderson and Davis. Has Davis started a game yet - if not why. Did Anderson play against Tiverton?
Rory Fallon came on as a sub, cheaper option to Moore?

Rory Fallon came on as a sub, cheaper option to Moore? Perhaps he's sorting out the ice creams for the club?

Seems we are scraping the bottom of the barrel somewhat. Scrabbling around amongst a bunch of nomadic has beens will never reap rewards. Whilst we may not sit amongst the bottom four in this campaign, another season of struggle beckons!

Possibly the oldest pair of trialist strikers ever?
Fallon 35 and Odubade 33.

We played a straight 4-4-2 throughout:
Clarke
Higgins Klukowski McGinty Chaney
Gosling Young Lathrope Reid
Gray Keating
Gosling and Reid on "wrong" wings to facilitate cutting inside.
Fallon came on for Keating and Odubade replaced Reid on the left wing. Later, Hancox came on at left wing with Odubade moving to the centre to replace Gray.

An entertaining and open game with some good passing football from both sets of players BUT impossible to make a judgement on how well we will fare in when the real stuff begins. Fallon well past his best - No thanks Kev - Odubade possibly but wouldn't lose any sleep if he was sent packing and would support him if he remains. The jury's still out I fancy. The much maligned Jamie Read was bright and full of running arguably our main threat last night and was unlucky with a 30 yarder from the left that cam e back off of the goal post/crossbar corner. Gray had little chance to shine and our front line looked a little lightweight up against higher level and bigger defenders and lacking width generally. Lathrope also impressed tidy and playing much higher up the pitch. In general though all performed and for the most part matched the league one side. A good run out but I would like to see us hit the net a bit more even against lesser opposition. "A hard work" ethic no doubt but with little flair other than Gosling who does know how to go past people. I feel yet again that lack of goals will be our Achilles heel.
