It will be interesting to see if we keep the same formation and personnel as Saturday.
Would like to see Dowling start. Maybe leave out McQuoid and push Young forward into "the hole"? I would expect unchanged though.
My only visit to Gravesend (as it was then) was 38 years ago. Buggar - am I that old?
I remember our " 'ard boys" "taking their end" with little opposition only for a load of Chelsea fans to turn up just before kickoff.
I also remember Clint Boulton making a very short-lived comeback. Albert Larmour was injured and we had a paper-thin squad. I was expecting Dave Smith to come into midfield, Twitch to drop to right back and Freddie Pethard to move to centre back. Instead, Mike Green called up veteran Clint who had retired at the end of the previous season but was helping out our youngsters in the Western League. Clint lasted about ten minutes, and then Smithy came on and Twitchin and Pethard shuffled around.
A goal from Stevie Cooper sent us into the second round and a Plainmoor classic with Swindon. I wish someone could rescue the highlights of that from the archives.
Get in !!! Readie well done that man well deserved sounds like we are carrying on where we left off. Now bloody hang on ad get another. Its getting there patience is key the management know the recipe.
My education started when I left Highweek School for boys..
Finally getting some consistency and we now have some hope that things are generally turning in our favour. Players doing the right things at last and showing some character. So pleased for Jamie Reid - Owers believs in him and now hes beginning to believe in himself. Actually looking forward to going on Saturday i just hope and pray it isn't another anti climax/ false dawn.

Given Ebbsfleet's good run of results, this was an excellent away win for us, and it seems that the team also played well again, just as they did at Halifax last weekend.
A punishing schedule involving a lot of travelling and two hard competitive matches means we probably won't have the freshest legs going into Saturday, but it would be nice if we could emerge at least unbeaten again this coming Saturday as we then have a bit of a break....even 5 points from a possible 9 would be far better than we're used to and indicate that things are moving in the right direction.
Anyone who's seen the team over recent weeks will surely recognise the quality that Liam Davis has brought to the side, and it should be impossible to fail to improve when you have his abilities to call on. Gary Owers must be starting to get more satisfied with the general play the team has been producing, and like the rest of us, just wish we could slot away a few more of the chances being created, although by all accounts, there was nothing much wrong with the way Jamie Reid took his chance to grab us a winner. One or two close calls of course, but a clean sheet and 3 points was as much, if not more, than we were asking for last night.

Debatable whether that ball crossed the line, but how many steps did the keeper make afterward...he took so bloody many he actually ran out of the picture!

The French have some funny ways about them Reg, and Monsieur Dorel is no exception. We've voted to keep their excentricities firmly on the other side of the channel, but for the meantime it has to be acknowledged that young Vincent is doing a capable job for us between the sticks.
Harking back to a turn of the century rule change: 'Rule changes are made often, and many of them affect all players, including goalkeepers. However, the last time a law was changed that affected only goalkeepers was in 2000, when the six-second rule superseded the four-step rule', might lead some to conclude that TFF and it's members can be a bit behind the times on occasions. But where's the harm in speculating how Roger Kirkpatrick, Pat Partridge, or Clive Thomas would have reacted to someone dressed all in pink, picking the ball up and then appearing to scuttle off with it ?
It wasn't over the line. Well taken goal again by Reid. Excellent dispossession of their midfielder by Young in the build up. It looked like a really good performance again and as AJ notes, Davis again looks extremely good.
