I hardly ever post anything these days, although I do visit this site every day to read what others have to say. My last attendance at Plainmoor was in the Spring of 2011, when I realised that Paul Buckle was on the verge of moving elsewhere and I couldn't see the point of continuing to attend the matches of a club which had fallen into the trap of the managerial merry-go-round. My era of enjoying the club was the 50s and 60s, and Jon and Barton Downs (what happened to him?) will remember many fascinating exchanges of opinion about team formations and my recollections of a number of matches in those years.
I am intrigued by this person Alpine Joe. Does he actually exist? At the head of the home page, someone has said that he is a parody and that people should laugh at the ridiculous comedy character he has created. Has one of the administrators said that, and if so why does he/she allow such nonsense to be posted? Who is this person, who persists in talking about hard left militants, leftist agitators, London left paymasters, socialist wreckage and a communist cake stall in London? What the hell has any of that to do with the plight in which the club now finds itself? He has even expressed these comments on a thread about new strikers!
All of his lengthy and cringe worthy posts remind me of the outbursts of Comical Ali during the Iraq War. I'm sorry if I come across as someone who is totally out of the loop as far as current gossip is concerned, but I would welcome being told the truth about why this person's views are not met with the derision which they deserve.

I reckon Alpine would qualify as not smart, but genius....and a very stable genius at that!"

I may not agree with all of AJs views but the gentleman certainly knows how to make a point and hit a nerve or two where its needed thats for sure ! He may not be everyones cup of tea but some of his posts have me laughing out loud after a day at work and all without a swear word in sight i hasten to add !

OK, but I was not asking whether he is a genius, as Pete F says, or if his posts are intended to make me laugh out loud. I just want to know who he is, why his posts should be regarded as a parody (of what?), and why he persists in banging on about members of the Supporters Trust (about which I know absolutely nothing) being left wing militants. If he is trying to make a serious point, then what on earth is he talking about? If he is simply trying to make people laugh, why does he bother?

You either get it or you don't, Stewart. Joe's been posting for a long time and his clever use of irony and humour is unmatched on this forum. And, as gullone says, never a swear word in sight. I'm with Stewart on this one. They didn't teach irony at Tweenaway.

Hello Stewart, I hope you're well, and I can assure you you've missed very little worth seeing by not attending Plainmoor since 2011. I've enjoyed reading your observations in this thread. Am I trying to make people laugh ?, or make a serious point ? Or is it a combination of trying to entertain and inform at the same time perhaps ? To tell you the truth I made things difficult for myself by waiting so long to get started. With all three Forums under TUST members control, and all having been pumping out pro-TUST propaganda for a number of years, it was a tough decision how best to go about countering or reversing the indoctrination process that had been under way for such a considerable time. Many Forum members were by then well versed in the pro-TUST arguments. To give you an example, let me give a slight exaggeration to make my point more clearly. I know everything about the Supporters Direct movement, the motivation of the politicians who put the creation of the Trusts into being, I've studied carefully for many years what they were up to, and what they were aiming to achieve. By contrast, on this very same subject, you confess to know 'absolutely nothing'. Yet , for reasons best known to yourself, you confidently state that my views are deserving of derision.
You see my point Stewart ? And the Forum members I wanted to speak to would be even more difficult to get a fair hearing from, as they weren't starting with a clean slate of knowing 'absolutely nothing', they'd been being fed the pro TUST line for a considerable time. Now if you are so sure I'm completely wrong from your starting point of knowing ' absolutely nothing' about the subject, just imagine the derisory responses I'd get from those who knew something, i.e they knew one side of the argument, the pro TUST side they'd be provided with on the Forums for so long. If I could borrow your own earlier comments to clarify the point further: 'All of his lengthy and cringe worthy posts remind me of the outbursts of Comical Ali during the Iraq War. I'm sorry if I come across as someone who is totally out of the loop as far as current gossip is concerned, but I would welcome being told the truth about why this person's views are not met with the derision which they deserve'. Whether it was Ali, or any other member of the Iraqi Government, or Hans Blix and his weapons inspectors, they were a few lone voices saying 'We've not got any WMD's, there aren't any here'. Blix says he's searched everywhere, there's not the slightest sign of them or of Iraq threatening the West. But that got the derision it deserved didn't it Stewart, it was all lies and rubbish. Totally comical. We knew who was providing us with the truth didn't we, we knew who we wanted to listen to and who would give us the real facts. Step forward 'Honest Tone' reading from his dodgy dossier and warning you WMD's could be raining down on you in 45 minutes if Saddam just gave the word. Don't believe the Iraqi's, we need to get over there pronto and start killing them all. Of course, in reality so many didn't have the faintest clue who was telling the truth, but still had that marvellous ability of knowing who to heap derision on, while standing four square behind Honest Tone's call for death and destruction to be visited upon the Iraqi nation. And so Comical Alpine knew that conventional warfare against the massed and entrenched ranks of TUST propagandists spread across the 3 Forums would be futile. A dry lecture on the Leftist leanings and Socialist beliefs of Supporters Direct founders wouldn't work. If supporters wanted to find out about these things they could already have just as easily investigated for themselves, as I had over many years. And so I settled on a different approach toward making what is an underlying serious point. Just look at the Trump and Russian collusion controversy for instance. The American public don't actually know what's what, but they heard the accusations so often that eventually they started asking 'Hey if this guy is our President, maybe there at least should be some sort of enquiry into this ?'
And that's the only extent of what I'm aiming to do. Not to lecture TUST members, not tell them what to do or think, just get under their skin enough to make them think and ask the questions themselves. Just to hammer away long enough at the issue, so that maybe one or two TUST members will decide to take a look. They'll say to themselves 'Hey I pay this organisation money every month to provide a safety net for my football club, not for all this political stuff and 'Promoting the cause of diversity'. Maybe the TUST member won't recall the membership having a vote on whether they wanted to 'Promote the Cause Of Diversity' and start asking their TUST leaders what it's all about. And that's the aim Stewart. To persuade TUST members to deflect their gaze upwards to see who really pulls the strings of their organisation. Then they'll learn why all the 'Promoting the cause of Diversity' is compulsory to obtain affiliation to the Left Wing Organisations that are really running the show. The one's driven by a political agenda that they intend to forward via getting control of football clubs. I'm convinced the average TUST member has been kept in the dark about this, and by God it's the one all important area where they do all they can to avoid transparency. I do no more than suggest to prospective TUST members that they should acquire a torch and have a good look at what it might illuminate before you commence funding. There will always be those who don't know, don't want to know, or don't care anyway. And thankfully there's the comforting fact that our own TUST is little more than a house trained poodle, currently licking up to the Official Supporters Club set up by Clarke Osborne. But it remains the hard Left pulling the strings at National level that are the danger; the ones who I will not let up in gently nudging those contemplating TUST membership to enquire about first....irrespective of whatever derision I might be subjected to for my efforts.

Strewth! Well, thanks for taking the trouble to type all that, although I have now given myself a headache reading through and trying to make some sense of it. Whether or not I should have bothered to do so is another matter. Strange, also, that there is no Quote button attached to your latest offering.
I don't doubt that you are a very intelligent and well educated chap. However, I believe that you have said that "left wing organisations are attempting to seize control of football clubs" and "promoting the cause of diversity" (whatever that means). As a former great tennis player once said "You cannot be serious!" If you are, then I can only deduce that you have fallen into a state of serious delusion. Good luck with your crusade in the future.

I am undoubtedly becoming more and more naive as I become more and more geriatric, but there is something very strange going on here. How is it that in Alpine Joe's profile it is stated that he was last online on 12 July, and that his name never appears among those who have been online during the past 24 hours, when quite clearly he has? Perhaps he is a "Guest" who has been given special dispensation? Who has stated on the main page that he is a parody and has created a ridiculous comedy caricature? What does that really mean?
I have no idea who is running this site these days, although a few people appear to have Admin or Manager under their usernames when they post. Perhaps there is a clique of administrators who have created this "member" via some technological method and hope that everyone else will find his rantings entertaining? As a total dunce when it comes to understanding how websites work, I would simply like to know who he is, and why some members are happy to put up with his absurd political references.
It is depressing enough to have to witness the tragic decline of a club which I started to support in 1954 at the age of eight, without having to read about how great the current owner is and how he is being opposed by left wing radicals. Time for the joke to end, I feel.

One thing puzzles me Alpine. You post on here and on comrade Merse's forum, but how come you don't post on the kiddies?

plainmoorpete I knew you'd accept nothing less that a proper factual answer, Pete, so I've nipped over to ' The Kiddies' and checked the stats. I last posted there three days ago (6th January) in the General Election thread on their Plopside section. It it is the case that I post there less often. Apparently I contributed 8 posts in August and only 3 posts in September, and then fizzled out till that one a few days ago. Thinking back, I reckon this would mainly be due to King Kev's sacking in the latter part of August, resulting in a loss of the will to post, or to live. My Kiddie Korrespondence has only totalled 341 posts in total, so I'm more of an occasional visitor there, unlike here where we're all integral parts of the friendly TFF family. I'll even be putting Stewart and Chelston back on my Christmas card list in a few days time .

My apologies Alpine. I actually read your last post on the day it was posted. I think the problem may be that there are so many right wing nut jobs on the kiddies that you just fade into the background there.

Time for the joke to end, I feel. No need for any technical wizardry to quote you, Stewart. I'm sure if you were less derogatory to AJ, he might provide you with the 'How to hide the quote button' knowledge that would elevate you from a 'knowing absolutely nothing' contributor, to a 'Blimey, that's clever' contributor. But of course to do that, we would have to ignore your call for forum censorship, and permit AJ to continue posting his guffaw-inducing observations. I wasn't asking for forum censorship, merely requesting answers to a number of questions which I have posed about a person who seems to have captured the imagination of several of you by expressing absurd, illogical and unsubstantiated views. For instance, he seems to believe that the nation's football clubs are under threat from leftist militants. Do the rest of you seriously believe that? If he is being serious in propagating this political drivel, then I fear that he is in need of some help. If it is intended to one all-encompassing joke (guffaw-inducing, as you put it), I should have thought that he would have become tired of it by now. It's true that I do not need to read what he says, and can easily scroll past it. What astonishes me is that the rest of you feel the need to encourage him to continue compiling his ridiculous essays.

You do know that not everything posted on a forum should necessarily be taken at face value, don't you, Stewart? So what is the point of posting anything at all? In recent years this site has degenerated into exchanges of sarcasm, irony and one line expletives during matches.
