According to the HE
"'Big, strong, mobile'- Owers spells out Gulls' promotion plan"
Dave Thomas compares Paul Buckles side in the Conference to Owers tring to get out of the NLS. "Owers appears to be approaching this job, albeit a division lower, with a similar attitude"
Seems we are looking at Truros Cody Cooke, is he a big lad?

Thomas talks out his arse and constantly brown noses a set up that has seen us crash down to regional football and treats us fans like idiots

As he has pretty much a clean slate to build his team this season, no excuses for players out of their usual position or not well drilled.

Torquay United will not hold back it seems next season if Gary Owers’ comments are anything to go by.The Gulls begin their National League South campaign at Chelmsford City in just over three weeks time - and they want to bounce back at the first attempt. Manager Owers won’t read too much into Tuesday’s 4-1 defeat at Forest Green Rovers. But he did tell Devon Live that he knows he has a duty to play the right way next season - and that means two strikers, not one. "We are going to have a go,” he said. “We have to win as many home games as possible, and put teams under real pressure. "We won't be playing any 4-5-1s this season. If we are going to be a force, I want to play at least two strikers.” Owers told the website that it’s going to take time for his nearly-new team to come together. “It's a fresh squad - we played seven new players and two or three trialists. We haven't had any football, and that's the first time they have played for a couple of months. "Forest Green are a good team, they had more possession and passed it simply. They had also had another game under their belt before this one, and I thought that showed. It's about building fitness levels.” Read the full interview here. www.devonlive.com/sport/heavy-defeat-starting-point-torquay-1773650

He has made some interesting and possibly encouraging signings but he needs more players and especially up front where a leader and robust centre forward is essential.

Despite that the players are fitter, are now square pegs in square holes, aren't rubbish anymore and are set up better to attack the opposition - NOHe's part of the team that are splitting opinion on whether to support the club next season in the Conference South. Pitch forks and lighted torches anyone........ Still a NO from me... ....and still a BIG NO from me.

Owers is under pressure already - from the fan base at least. The support for the team and manager has been surprisingly good until our first defeat on Tuesday when once again all of the old problems reared there ugly heads. After years of disappointment and failure the ones who have stuck with it are demanding better and rightly so. Most of us are running out of patience and it wont take long for the manager to feel the wrath of supporters unless he can cure the lethargic forward line and lack of goals and goal threat. Unless he decides to approach games with a little more attacking intent and set up the team to hit the net a bit more often we will slide down the table pretty quickly and the rather fortunate wins against Bath and ET will soon be forgotten. The five across the back is fine and has proved that it can work but if your wide players cant threaten, push back defenders regularly then its a waste of time. I would like to see Asa Hall back in midfield - Cameron and Niate should be able to cope and play a conventional wide man - NOT REID! - Bawling/Banton. Owers has created a problem for himself by making Williams captain and he deserves to be dropped in all honesty but I cant see that happening. Wright needs to be given his chance ASAP maybe alongside Williams or maybe Keating. Whatever he need to pretty soon start shaking it around a little to find some goal threat. The standard at this level is pretty poor from what I have seen so far a definate drop in quality that we are failing to capitalise on.
