Possibly add Mansell to that list who went on to score the penalty for Bristol Rovers to get them back to league 1. Excellent criteria by the way. Football and forums is all about having opinions but a player's subsequent signing is the proof in the pudding.

Football and forums is all about having opinions but a player's subsequent signing is the proof in the pudding. Maybe. Although Mansell left us for a Club that were to be our nearest National League rivals the following season, rather than to one a League above. Distinctly remember him imploring the ref to book one or two of our players at the Mem the festive period after his treacherous move there. The Judas. I thought he scored the penalty that sent them back to the Football League that following season, didn’t he? But yes, he did do well to go on and have another season in the Football League after their National League play-off success. I think he played a fair few games back in League 2. AJ will know.

Yes, it was a sideways move, Judas is a fair comment, but he was also part of 3 league 2 play off teams in the latter stages of his career so on that narrow point would suggest he was ok at that level and attracted some over the top criticism #captain dogshit, counterbalanced by AJ’s legends thread of course

Rob Before I look back, instead taking a moment to look forward to 2020, and I believe there are plans for the Osborne Arena to incorporate a 'TUFC Hall Of Fame'. Initial ideas being that as you enter, on either side of the entrance you are flanked by illuminated bronze busts of Cap'n Manse and Luke Young. It seems that one current Plainmoor employee is determined to see a 'Legendary General Managers Of The Modern Era' category as well, and has indicated his willingness to sit for a portrait. But yes, when Cap'n Manse exhibited nerves of steel at Wembley in front of that big crowd and and an even larger TV audience, to coolly tuck away the winning penalty, it was to win the National League Play Off Final for Bristol Rovers. We had our man Barton Downs in the stadium on the day keeping us updated. But.....and we'll all remember who recently predicted to the exact number how many points we'd amass this season......just look who was predicting a Cap'n Manse winning penalty back in 2015 ! So discuss how well we'll do next season all you want. It's rjdguil's prediction as to our likely fate that we should all take most seriously. The legendary Cap'n made 29 appearances the following season back in League 2 as he helped them to yet another promotion. The demands of League 1 combined with age catching up with him meant that Manse was limited to 10 appearances for Rovers in 2016/17, but was by now loved, respected and honoured by all Pirates fans, as they greeted the news that heroic Cap'n Manse would continue to spread his wisdom to aid the Rovers cause by taking a prominent position within the club's coaching staff.

What do we need...probably a miracle and a week at Lourdes! On saying that, the miracle might already have happened on the so-called Kiddies Site...

Think we should start by trying to sign the best young players from Devon and Cornwall.

Still think we need a big solid strong pacey No 9 unit up front for others to feed off. Suspect we will end up with a weedy five foot nothing non-entity but live in hope!

There's sure to be a sudden flurry of signings, there has to be. Not sure if that's a good sign or a bad one or whether hes been able to tempt the players here that he really wanted or has indeed been snubbed. I can fully understand him not releasing target names, that would be foolish and invite even more criticism when a player looks a cert to sign and then signs for another club. Its happened numerous times in the past. Is he facing exactly the same problems Nico and previous managers have had? Of course he is but the question is can he make the club look ambitious and attractive enough and get some genuine experience and quality to challenge next season.
No need to fret we're sure to have enough players on board come pre-season friendlies but of what standard is another question.

Like a lot of fans I am totally hacked off by the way the club has been handled over the past few years. The mojo has gone and any aspirations are hardly visible. Frankly the current set up is not fit for any purpose. The only thing to keep interest going is the thought that Osborne may just feck off at some point and lead to a new regime that can put things together again. This is possible but there will only be a narrow window of opportunity!

Think we'll have some news tomorrow.
McGinty and Dorrell off and we sign Blind Pew & Tiny Tim.
