It’s coming home! Or is it?
Exicitment is building but tough game against a Sweden side that we have a poor record against and I always remember the Swedes 2 Turnips 1 headline which was cruel but actually quite funny at the same time.
A win today would see an England side become semi finalists for only the third time and ensure our participation until the final weekend and give Kane a great chance of emulating Gary Lineker and bringing home the Golden Boot.
Looking forward to the game. Reckon it will be a close one.

IT was easy enough, Sweden looked Championship qualaity but they still make me nervous at times and if Pickford hadn't been switched on it would have been different game. Croatia have Modric that worries me. Russia have a massive partisan crowd behind them and if we do do the impossible and get the final Belgium and France both have many World class players. Thought we looked a bit tired from the Columbia game but great game management and our quality shone through. Whatever comes next it will have been a fantastic effort.

A really good professional if unspectacular performance, which was probably exactly what was required to beat the dogged Swedes. Southgate and his team must feel they stand a real chance in the semi final now. In the evening game, when the Russians scored a late equaliser in extra time, it looked as if the momentum was with them, and that a 'Battle of Novichok' semi final was being lined up. Penalties decided otherwise however. Speaking for myself, I think I could cope with losing to the good Croatian side in the semi's, or with losing to the excellent Belgian side in the final. The nightmare scenario of losing to the detestable French in the final would be infinitely harder to live with.....in fact wouldn't going out in the Group stages have been a better outcome than suffering that fate ? Well let's stay positive and remember that putting the French to the sword would be the sweetest possible way to win it. Although I did have a most disturbing dream last night. On the morning of our World Cup Final match against the French, Garth Southgate received a message from Theresa May, informing him that she'd been told by Michel Barnier that the E.U would much prefer it if one of their founding members and leading lights could lift the trophy....and had concluded his message with 'Allez les Bleus'. Theresa the Appeaser explained to Gareth that she was sure he would understand that as a vassal state of the E.U, and having just indicated our subservience in agreeing to be a 'rule taker rather than a rule maker', she'd leave it to him to do the necessary to ensure that Macron, Delores, & Co were all grinning from ear to ear at full time. 'They've already organised an open top gravy train tour of Paris to show off the trophy, so I'm counting on you, Gareth, to follow up my surrender, and to arrange an equally lily-livered performance from our lads. And should we accidentally score first, I will expect plenty of concessions to immediately be made. I've shown you how it's done, so you've absolutely no excuse for victory'

Yes, Alpine, as Brexit collapses in the chaos of dismally negotiating a fallacy nobody really knew exactly what it looked like anyway, there is hope for Remainers. In fact, Gareth and his multi-cultural team are the embodiment of the Remainers, outward looking, fresh, young and exciting, whereas we only have to look at the Brexit football that there might have been had Sam Allardyce not been such a greedy (probably Tory) bastard.
Allardyce = Brexit, inward looking, long-ball, Rooneyesque with Little Englander, Sammy Lee at his side. Look what you get with Gareth and his creative team? Even Gareth concedes that this team can do much to heal a fractured nation. Time for a second referendum one would think he means.

Most immigrants work and therefore contribute to the pot.
