I would like to draw the weakest team left at home on the basis the win money and TV fees are useful - the main thing is to progress through to R 3 if we can?

I can see a few teams in the draw in the step below us (7th), would be happy with a home draw against any non league team. We got to the fourth round (against Coventry at home) with Buckle while in the National League to win four ties in this competition and would be good to emulate that run if at a lower level.

We won four ties in 1910/11. We won five ties in 1921/22, 1923/24 and 1925/26. In 1921/22 we actually won six games if you count the abandoned match with Spencer Moulton. Still some way to go to match those games in the 1920s. Probably at a relatively similar level the club was at almost a century ago...

Lost to Boscombe - who of course are now in the Premier League. 1923 Newtons and Taunton, Green Waves, Coleford Athletic, Trowbridge and Yeovil. Lost to mid-table Division Three South Aberdare Athletic after a replay (Don't worry we will get revenge). 1925 Green Waves, Taunton United, Kingswood, Mid Rhonnda and Yeovil. Lost to Reading after two replays. Reading were champions of Division Three South that season - pipping Argyle by one point!

Draw live on BBC2 from 7 tomorrow. I would take take home to Plymouth in round one, home to Exeter in round 2, home to Manchester United in round three, followed by a replay and then concentrate on the league. As always, the best Cup coverage is on the excellent Tony Kempster forum: www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=884374;page=4;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;guest=278315301First Round Draw 7.10p.m. Monday 22nd October 3p.m. Saturday 10th November unless stated (with replays by 7.45 p.m. the following Thursday week) Winners £36,000 48 exemptions (Levels 3 & 4) plus 32 survivors Level 7 survivors Warrington (7NPP) (replay) Hitchin Town (7SLPC) (replay) Leatherhead (7ISTP) (replay) Metropolitan Police (7SLPS) Taunton Town (7SLPS) (replay) Haringey Borough (7ISTP) Exemptions (1-48) 01 Accrington Stanley (3) 02 A.F.C. Torquay v Woking. Could be worse.

Home draw and winnable though bound to be a bigger and sterner test than we had up until now. Should be a good crowd and a feisty contest. Was dreading a Newport away sort of draw like we usually get.

At home and winnable. That’ll do nicely. We might as well get used to trying to beat the better sides in this League and in the next few weeks we have Wealdstone, Billericay and Woking again. C’mon United.

Torquay v Woking. Could be worse. Good opportunity to progress- I think Woking were a bit shell shocked after the second half and won’t be looking forward to a return fixture at Plainmoor.

I somehow don't think Woking are going to cock it up twice. If they get ahead in the tie we are really going to have our hands full.

Tough draw, but at home and winnable, if we don't play like we did in the second half against Winchester City.
