FAC1R: Torquay United v Woking 3pm 10/11/18

Weathers not looking good at the moment and wind and rain due tomorrow as well.

Good days football coming up, I´ll be following the match at Plainmoor followed by Dortmund v Bayern Munich on Sky this evening.

From last week's 16, Nabi is out suspended. Haven't heard of any fresh injuries.

I hope Andrews will return on the left with Keating dropping to the bench.

I would expect Essuman, if he is fit, to replace Wynter.

We are unlikely to fill a 7-man bench. I haven't heard anything to suggest that any of Sendles-White, Hall or Edwards are fit.

Lost the winning habit disappointing result the wheels are coming off

Shame wasn't our day their keeper pulled off a worldy and they somehow kept us out.
Wheels coming off? I don't think so - our first defeat under GJ and the wheels are still on?
Couldn't fault the effort or application today and player for player we were far superior in most areas. They had the break when perhaps naively Niate challenged and I though won the ball from behind in the box.Other than that they hardly had offered a threat. That's the way it goes sometimes and it happens to the best sides and at any level.
Compared to what i have been watching for the last few seasons its another planet and that's reflected in the people that are returning to Plainmoor each week and believe me I was ready to call it a day before the arrival of GJ. This was a proper committed performance but without the desired result.
A few tweaks from GJ and we will be challenging at the top of this division.

That was a costly defeat...Good money to be made from a good cup run. Unfortunate but sure GJ will bring in players to make us better.

I thought we got well and truly mugged by the referee today by awarding Woking their penalty. Sat behind the goal it was clear to us all that Niate cleanly won the ball with his sliding tackle when Woking were through on goal in the penalty area on our right. He hardly made contact with the Woking player and it was an excellent tackle. I cannot recall any Woking appeals and as far as I am concerned that has to go down as one of the worst referee decisions I have ever seen at PLainmoor. There was another controversial moment later in the second half. A Torquay player got brought down about 30 yards out and the referee appeared to wave play on as the ball fell to Janneh in the box who was then taken out by a Woking player. The referee warded a free-kick for the original foul. The incident was down the other end from me so I will be interested to see a replay on that as well.

Torquay created enough decent chances to win the game. Kalala was our main goal threat in the first half and showed excellent trickery on the ball and unleashed a couple of very good strikes. Woking's keeper made a cracking flick over for one of KalaIa's efforts. I thought Woking had a decent spell in the first half when they got the upper hand and MacDonald made a very good 1-on-1 save smothering the ball. There were times in the first half when the game was end-to-end and very entertaining to watch. Woking brought down 323 fans today which was a lot more than normal and the crowd was a decent 2,419. I thought the Pop side went too quiet today after we fell behind. Sponsors MOTM mysteriously going to our keeper MacDonald? He made one decent save but was hardly busy today. I thought our best players were Lemonheigh-Evans and Kalala who were very good on the ball.

Torquay nearly got a deserved equalizer in added time when after a scramble the ball was cleared off the line. In truth once Torquay fell behind they never looked convincing enough to come back. I think we are missing Asa Hall big style in midfield for his leadership and his heading ability from corners. He is such a driving force for us. We have lots of young talent with really exciting ability but there are times like today and against Billericay last week when you need experienced heads particularly in adversity. Our last two opponents just seem more street wise than us.

I heard before the match that Gary Johnson told a fan that we will be signing two quality players next week so that sounds promising. It is clear we need a marksman who can finish off chances. Both Reid and Janneh missed the target when clear on goal today - Reid blasted a rebound over the bar and Janneh hit the side netting when through on goal when we were 1-0 down. They were costly misses and it is these fine margins that need to be improved.

I feel gutted we are out of the cup in such controversial fashion and I am afraid that dream is over for another year. Let's hope we can pick up our form again in the league.
