They won 2-0 tonight courtesy of 2 deflected goals and Welling unlucky with an effort coming back off the inside of the post.

There comes a time in every mans life, when he has to consider pulling out...otherwise, there could be a sticky ending!

Woking apparently lost 3 players to injury etc prior to last Saturdays 1 - 1 draw and also fluffed a penalty to win the game. Meanwhile Concord Rangers our promotion/play off rivals were deducted 3 points yesterday for fielding an ineligible player on their 4-0 win at Hampton & Richmond on 4th December

Any idea if they are still depleted going into tomorrow’s game?

link - Bad day at the office according to their manager. Or more bluntly as a fan wrote on their forum, “total shit in the first half and both shit and unlucky in the second.” Also just reading through their match reports, it seems that their pitch has cut up really bad and affects their style of football. They have 4 matches in a row at home over the fortnight from 5th to 19th February so unlikely to improve as we have found to our cost and probably will deteriorate even more. One point from 2 games and seems they were lucky to get one. Is this a blip or are they starting to stutter? They play Oxford ironically next week, will be interesting to see how they get on before those home games.

The real bonus of today is that if we beat them in our head-to-head in April, they will no longer be able to catch us, assuming we have matched their results up to that point. We are in control of our destiny now, which I thought was slipping away after last week's result. If we aren't already Champions by then I'm off to Tescos again! 😃

I see that Oxford CIty have brought in a defender from Hungerford and a forward from Milton Keynes Dons to bolster their squad for Woking on Saturday. linklink

From being the inform team a couple of months ago Oxford have plummeted to the bottom of the form table with four straight defeats. They really have become a very poor side. Playing them last week after the Bath defeat was a piece of luck because it let us get back into the winning habit, but likewise it also helps Woking to get over two very poor results.

Could this game be called off? Having an artificial pitch helps of course.
Oxford City FC @oxcityfc
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
In order to get tomorrow’s match against @wokingfc on, we need volunteers to help clear the paths and the pitch at Marsh Lane.
If you’re able, please come to the ground to help manager Mark Jones at 12:30 this afternoon.
Oh, and bring a shovel!

Link - Oxford have got a left back in from Hereford so at least have got decent cover now for those defensive frailties evident last week and on a familiar surface I think will give Woking a good game now,

I'm glad that's happened, because those two games in hand that Woking have, has been pissing me off for ages! Once they're out of the way, we will have a better idea of what's happening! Gives them a chance to overtake us of course but will need to win both games to do that. (Oxford away and Dartford at home) Always quite comfortable with the points and being top myself.
