[Updated situation:
MacDonald
Wynter, Niate, Cameron, Davis
Keating, Hall, Little, Kalala
Reid Duku
Subs
Covolan gk Dickson Koszela
Starting to look competitive now. Compare the starting XI to the Boreham Wood game where Keating was sent off after 38 minutes and a narrow extra time defeat.
MacDonald
Wynter, Sendles-White, Cameron, Davis
Keating, Hall, Andrews Kalala
Reid Koszela
Eight players were in the same position, lose Sendles-White, Andrew and Koszela and bring in Niate, Little and Duku. Johnson is not finished yet but shows how we are shaping up.

Gary Johnson on signings and pre- season plansQuite a long interview on various issues as he looks to hit the ground running for pre-season. Interestingly talks about the hopeful 2 signings this week (of which Duku is one and now up to 14 and with another 15 - not 16/17 as stated) and then perhaps 3 loanees to add to the squad so slightly smaller numbers - 18ish than anticipated but a good quality close knit squad is no bad thing as worked well last year. If this signing comes off then looking at the areas we need to fill should give us a good steer on which loan signings will be coming in.

When does the fixture list for next season come out? July 3rd - which I think is the day that the players report back for pre-season training

GJ said we hope to make 2 more signings...Manny Duku already in...who else do we have lined up? Quite hard to call as not sure which position we are looking at although suggest that we need at least 2 more defenders and 2 more midfielders. Looking at potential loanees I would guess that Edwards and one of Baldwin/Cundy in central defence may be coming our way. If we also had either Andrews or Vincent coming back that would suggest a right back or a centre back that can also play at right back.

Sorry but who are Baldwin and Cundy? link - bit more about Baldwin in this link with the obvious connections. Robbie Cundy played for Bath last year in the centre of the meanest defence in the league before being snapped up by Bristol CIty - link

link - update on Devon Live today with the 15th signing expected any day now with preseason training starting next Wednesday 26th June. Looks like that there may be a few trailists turning up but seems that Johnson is keeping a bit of money in reserve in case a good transfer opportunity arises early on in the season.

And so he should. I remember that the great King Kev revealed that in his first pre-season as Manager he was too anxious to get his squad together and on reflection realised that other more suitable players, possibly at a better price, would have become available had he been willing to play a waiting game.
While GJ will naturally be working with a bigger budget than King Kev could ever have dreamed of, he'll know from all his years of Managerial experience that keeping something back for nearer the start of the season, when your bargaining position is much stronger with any player not yet fixed up for the coming campaign, can often prove to be worthwhile.

Excellent point Alpine Joe. GJ is a wily old fox....sure ge will get it right. Also interesting to see which trialists will be putting on a Torquay shirt in the coming weeks.
