We also got beat at Bromley when Brett Williams got a hat trick one time. Herrera was caretaker manager prior to Owers.

From Torquays first game on artificial turf in 1986... I love these old cuttings Gullone! So we found the plastic pitch to our liking!!! I missed most of the Bryn season as I was living in Portugal, but I remember a mood of optimism as the season started - with the shadow of Webb having been lifted. We only lost two of our first ten league games (although we only won two). We then lost six in a row. Looks very much like a narrow 4-3-3 there. Maybe almost a diamond, with Crowe holding, Pyle right, Rowe left and Phillips in the hole behind Nardiello and Dobson. is that how you remember it?

To be honest Jon i cant remember how we lined up formation wise and you could very well be right. I do remember being much happier with Stuart Morgan as manager and some decent players on board imo. Also back to playing in a yellow and blue kit after two years of misery in all blue under Webb. I wasnt expecting that season to unfold in such a dramatic way though !
