Probably best to avoid players with a history of injuries when we bring in players next season.

Last play two off places still up for grabs and last day nerves for all those involved. Chesterfield, Bromley Eastliegh, Wrexham and Halifax could all grab a play off place on the final day and equally all could fail to win a spot. We, on the other hand sit an wait to see who we will be facing int the semi with next weeks match at Altrincham pretty irrelevant now.
My guess is GJ will play a few of the peripheral players. The likes of Matt Buse, Shaun Mac Donald, Benji, Josh Umerah and Olaf could get well some game time while resting a few of those who looked so jaded today. Despite the poor showing today we live to fight another day and we all know for a fact we can and will play better and on our day few teams at this level can live with us.
Troubling to see no Ben Whitfield and no sign of Danny Wright. Both would give the squad a massive lift if fit and ready to join the last days of an incredible and successful season.

Congratulations to two of our youth players who have signed pro terms with the club. They are Jacob Evans and Owen Price who both featured in the preseason friendlies last season. I particularly remember Evans who got a start and played most of the game on the left wing against Tiverton and acquitted himself well there.. Both also featured in the England National College side last year - linkScott Piper follows on the heels of JJ Evans and Owen Price in featuring for the English National College side - see above link

Player of the Season voting - hard call to make this year as it has been a real team effort and quite surprising of those still eligible for young player of the year. Choice of Randell, CLE, Sherring and Hall for me. Wright, Whitfield and Nemane would have been up there if not for injury..... After mulling this over during the week voted for CLE and Randell, as for me, they offer the most quality on the pitch. Need to make your selection by Monday so get voting….. link - Results are in and CLE wins player of the season and Randall young player of the season. Nice interview on the link from both of these players that have contributed so much to us this season.

Nice interview on the link from both of these players that have contributed so much to us this season. Very popular choices and just as I voted myself. Both very much football league quality but sadly we will not be seeing Adam again after the next fortnight but I will certainly be keeping an eye on his career from now on. CLE has been consistent and a major force for us not too many headlines though some crucial and classy goals will have him on the radar of a few football league clubs for certain and I fear way may be in danger of loseing him if we don't make it. Good to see Whits and Danny in full kit with no muscle supports/ bandages etc for the presentation - could this be a clue?

The sting in the tail of a successful season. Think we all thought Whitfield was too good for the National League after signing for us and delighted when he re-signed last year. Even with promotion there are some big budgets in league 2 and with clubs now actively recruiting stories like this are going to surface. Would be sad to see him leave but as he is now in the peak years of his career would not begrudge him getting a good pay day. Would then be up to Johnson to find the next young talent.

Like rjdgull says it's the inevitable consequence of having a successful season. What does concern me is, if we win in Sunday, GJ will have a very tight window in which to recruit a side capable of competing in the EFL. Personally if we do go up, I think next season is going to be all about survival. Even if we don't go up next season will be tough as there are some very good sides in this division who are all former EFL clubs.

Agreed totally different standard and we will need to recruit and improve the squad in certain areas. Happy if we went up and survived anything else a bonus. Said weeks ago we are at a "player recruitment" disadvantage with this crazy late late finish and no idea what level were going to playing in. I do, however believe that GJ will have this all in hand and covered as best he can with targets and a retained list already made up for both scenarios.

Agree on that point, I have no doubt that GJ is the best man for us, however I remember being somewhat shocked at the time during the 2009/10 that we found it very difficult to adapt to the first season back in the Football League under Paul Buckle, another manager I had total faith in.

One big difference Pete - GJ has been there a number of times and knows exactly whats required whereas Buckle was a first timer....

The Twitterati are saying that the rumours are not true.....indeed Whitfield himself has said he has not turned down a contract so has no idea how the rumour of him leaving started. ⚽️

Roll on Sunday let’s get this club back to the football league 🙌🏼⚽️💛 #tufc
