Looks like we have brought in two players who are highly rated by their clubs. Difficult situation to come into...but let's hope they both settle in quickly and help us find some sort if form.

Link - young loan striker coming in but not available for FA cup action. Promising. Looks to have some physicality about him at least. Hopefully pace and trickery as well. He will certainly terrify a few defences if he keeps pulling the face in the photo on the OS!

So we loan in an 18 year old striker whilst at the same time having our own 19 year old striker out on loan himself. Put another way, our 19 year old went out on loan because he needed game time to develop. Now we are being used develop QPRs 18 year old by giving him game time. Personally I think this going to be a huge waste of time from our point of view. How can anyone expect an inexperienced 18 year old to walk into this shit show of a team and do anything other than flounder. Go figure.

You hope he is another Saikou, but it's a long shot. His League of Ireland experience is a bit of a red herring. Shamrock Rovers play in the LOI Premier League - a league in which players like Ruairai Keating and Andre Wright have excelled. The second tier is nowhere near as strong - probably barely Southern League standard. Shamrock Rovers' development team were allowed to play in it for a season after Limerick pulled out late in the day. Basically just a team of kids as you can see from the link below. Armstrong made two starts plus four subs. uk.soccerway.com/teams/ireland-republic/shamrock-rovers-res/27391/squad/

Has Armstrong actually scored any goals in his brief career? He certainly hasn't scored as many as Olaf Koszela.

What concerns me is the long and slow half century long decline that set in since Frank O'Farrrell left. Since the 1972 relegation we have had just two single isolated seasons in the third tier. We've sunk as low as the fifth tier and if we go back again then I think we may well struggle in the way that York City have struggled in the North. This squad is definitely weaker than the one GJ inherited from Owers and if this was truly the best GJ could do then Torquay United have a serious problem attracting players and dumping the manager alone will not solve the problem. Has anyone wondered if issues such as the price of property in Torbay is deterring older more experienced professionals from coming down here? The prospect of slumming it in the Gulls Lodge can't be very appealing. If that were an issue then our decline is probably terminal and the future bleak.

Tbh this stems back to being robbed of promotion by a dodgy referee. We then lost strong players like Cameron,Whitfield,Nemane, Covolan plus two good loanees. That's half a team. Then the team and management had the disappointment of that plus a truncated close season to contend with, meaning less time to re-charge batteries and recruit players. Everyone seemed happy enough with the new signings at the time.Whilst they show intermittent signs of promise they are getting zero help from the experienced core group who are a shadow of themselves, probably for the reasons mentioned. Let's hope the new signings can hit the ground running, but it's a big ask. Pretty obvious we have a reduced budget which is understandable and having to tread water this season is the unpalatable truth whilst some clubs are throwing ridiculous sums of money around ahead of the new financial restrictions next season. Big performance needed on Saturday!

Could be a crucial signing. Quality player still highly regarded at argyle . After the rushed signings to form a squad we have entered a period of more considered signings i feel. Definitely the sort quality we need to compete at the sharp end.

35+ matches in League 1 last season cannot be sniffed at at our level. This is a quality signing.
Johnson’s ‘catch-up’ signings, barring the desperate ones with last season’s injuries, have been of a good standard. The last three on first viewings appear to be 1st X1 starting material, for sure, young or not. Which is essential when, for me, O’Connell, Martin, Omar, Rogers, at least, appear developing squad players at this stage.
With Lolos improving with game time, I see the forward options as good ‘til January for now. With hopefully Wright pushing for contention again some time soon and Addai back fit. And obviously Moore strengthens us where wing-backs deployed. The injection of pace is welcome with the newer signings.
Fingers crossed injuries don’t start to plague us again, which has certainly started hitting the midfield berths.

A very solid cv, so a good signing on paper. Let’s hope he lives up to the cv, and that he gets match-fit quicker than Addai.
I guess the reason he did not sign earlier was that he was looking for a Football League club. Hope he is here to play and not just to pick up a last payday.
Could be just what we have been lacking - providing us with pace and penetration wide whilst able to drop back and work hard wide midfield when required. We have missed Nemane and Whitfield for those qualities.
