Thanks for that Timbo. Not sure if many of you recognise the Reading number 9, Robin Friday. If not, google him. He was the poor mans George Best so they say, and had a book written about him called, The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw. I can't remember ever seeing him play, but he must have been pretty special. Reading's keeper was Steve Death, I've just googled him as I knew he was famous for something but unsure what. He held the record in English League football for going 1,074 minutes without conceding a goal. It was only broken in 2009 by van der Saar (Man Utd).
At least he didn't keep a clean sheet in this game!

If anyone is in touch with Derek Harrison, please do let him know that the Reading Evening Post thought he should be playing for Atletico Madrid!
Quite a compliment until you realise the context.
The previous week Atletico had been guilty of the worst display of outright thuggery ever witnessed on a football pitch as they kicked their way to a 0-0 draw at Parkhead in a European Cup semi despite three sent off, ten booked and over 50 free-kicks conceded.

Reading's keeper was Steve Death, I've just googled him as I knew he was famous for something but unsure what. What I knew him for - and was EXTREMELY thankful for - was that he kept John Turner out of the team so that Turner was desperate to leave. Mike Green nicked him and what a fantastic keeper he was for us! If Death was better than Turner, he must have been one hell of a keeper!
