After being in football limbo for the past seven months the games out of necessity come thick and fast and our next game is against Eastleigh FC with coverage starting at 7:30 pm and can be streamed from HERE for £7.99. After a media blackout from the club, we now know a lot more about who is in the actual squad, and the state of fitness of everyone. Our game on Saturday started well and ended well but was a struggle in between. The match turned on the triple substitution with three sets of fresh legs combining with the fitness and running of Whitfield, Nemane, CLE and Wynter. It doesn’t mean that starting with these three will change things around but the passing in midfield wasn’t up to scratch when we were under the cosh in the middle part of the match. Nemane is an enigma, strong on the ball, good tackler, full of running and won us the match with his assist from out wide and last gasp clearance off the line. However, his passing was poor at times in midfield and you wonder if he would be a better option covering the Buse wing back position? Eastleigh had a great start with a 1-5 away win against Barnet although this team has had it difficulties following their unsuccessful play off campaign. Five different players scored Eastleigh goals so threats all over the pitch but having seen our defence’s Trojan heroics and somehow keep a clean sheet I would be very surprised if we go down to a similar score line.

Eastleigh will be a genuine threat believe me if you watched the highlights from yesterday. Video on Eastleigh home page here www.eastleighfc.com/Carved Barnet to pieces who themselves looked decent going forward. We will need to be better than yesterday to get a result. Have we had a injury/player update from the club Rob? Still guessing why, how long and when expected to return for about half a dozen!

Just had a look at the highlights Pete and some good goals in there including a cracker by their centre half Alex Wynter. Assume as he was also born in Croydon and progressed through the Crystal Palace youth ranks that he is brother or maybe cousin of our Ben.
I think you can see after last week that Johnson is playing with his cards very close to his chest and while it is frustrating as fans not being able to know when players are due back from injury, if it gives the team an edge then I get that. Yesterday, Stockport made a sub at half time to change their formation.....
It was assumed that Davis and Little would be back for the start of the season but Moxey signed on a permanent and Randell signed for a month despite Hall back playing although not yet fit to start. Think I read somewhere that Little had his final visit to St George so maybe just a question of getting match fit??? No news on Warren or Kerr but no indication that either are out long term.

I reckon we are just about scraping through at the moment with so many players out already - hopefully we get a few positive results until we get a few more back. It did look a bit disjointed at times on Saturday so credit to all those who played out of position in unfamiliar roles. Moxey will return after Saturday and Ben Winter will surely revert back to RWB. Buse for all of his hard work allowed too many dangerous crosses that we got away with. That one simply wasn't working very well I didn't think the formation was very effective offensively but did offer extra cover at the back that somewhat fortunately won us the game. I guess if it gives you even the smallest of advantages keep your cards close to your chest but in all honesty I haven't a clue why the injury situation hasn't been updated for a long while. No idea of how long, why or whatever for numerous players. Warren, Kerr, Nelson all summer signings and we haven't a clue whats wrong with any of them with some suggesting that Nelson has fallen out with the manager already. That cant be healthy if untrue.. No Updates on Little or Liam Davis either two key players IMHO. Tough games will keep coming one after the other in quick succession and Eastleigh will be buoyant and confident after their annihilation of Barnet at the weekend. We will have to be better offensively and be more of a threat to get anything from the game. The players who entered the fray and made such an impact will be pushing for a start though i believe GJ will be rotating the eleven and with so many games compressed into this opening spell it will be important to keep everyone as fresh as possible to avoid injuries through tight muscles etc.
Lady luck won't always be there to lend a hand, we need a better performance tonight.

Going solely on Saturday's viewing, I'd bench Andrews and one of Buse/Hall. Stick Nemane in that wing back role as he is much more effective out wide and two strong midfielders Randell and Hall/Buse in the middle, with CLE just ahead of those two. Britton must be in with a shout for one of the two underwhelming performers from Saturday, imo, Umerah and Wright. Wright's experience would probably edge it.

Hall in for Buse, suspect Nemane will be wing back. Randell possibly on for Hall after an hour? - link

Live stream up and running fine, as on Saturday. Yes. Looking forward to it. Nemane right wing back, or Andrews left and Whitfield right? Surprised Randell and Britton not starting.
