Fantastic game and after the agony of seeing chance after chance not going in against Dagenham we certainly took them today and nice for the boot to be on the other foot when it comes down to a six goal Boxing Day thumping. Cannot be too many games where TUFC have had six different players score in a game and shows we have attacking intent all over the pitch.
Thought the CLE goal was really well worked from Nemane stealing possession and switching to Whitfield with his low cross delightfully flicked in at the near post. Maybe the goal of the season so far? The Wright goal was really well taken although thought the cross was a bit strong initially. Their keeper went to sleep for Nemane’s goal and allowed him to nip in after good work from Umerah in keeping the ball alive. Nemane was man of the match for me but it was a good all round team performance with notable contributions from CLE, Randell and Whitfield.
Yeovil looked low on confidence and missed a good few chances that you feel our players would have comfortably put away.
Hope Little’s injury is not serious, understandable that he would not take any chances and walked off fairly freely. Cannot say the same for Wright and likely out for something akin to Wynter’s lay off but then we shall see.
Buzzing with this win and while it is better being at Plainmoor, not the same in atmosphere and will be glad when restrictions are over, hopefully for the end of the season.

Torquay United-the gift that keeps on giving! Unbelievable result.. 6 goals 6 different scorers. Genuinely expected this to be a difficult game for us. Hope the injuries to Wright and Little are not serious. Last thing we need right now is a squad disrupted by injuries. Both Notts County games against King's Lynn postponed because of Covid. County home to Hartlepool on Monday. Will be interesting to see what the table looks like after we play Notts County on the 23rd.

link - super strike from Little, looks a lot better from behind the goal and something we all know he can do. Hope he is back very soon.

Haven't seen it mentioned but surely a contributor to our impressive home form is the massive improvement of the pitch drainage. It looked fantastic yesterday considering the amount of rain we've had over the past month and the problematic Bristow's bench side is no longer the usual quagmire we expect at this time of year.
Credit to those who look after the playing surface must be one of the best in the division but also for the initiative, forethought and pre-season investment.

link - some highlights up on National League website if you want to relive the goals. Still don’t know what their keeper was doing for Nemane’s goal.....

It’s lovely not having to worry about whether the match is going to be on or not. Really important in this season with COVID postponements flying around not to add to this with unfit pitches as a lot of clubs are going to be playing catch up in a lot of games which will take its toll with fatigue, injuries and ultimately results. Of course, also suits our game and pitches like that at Kings Lynn are harder to reproduce that sort of form and can be a leveller. Saying that we were lucky yesterday in that we had a heck of a lot of rain last night and the storm did not come in a few hours earlier......

The early goals were so important. Yeovil were time wasting on a goal kick two minutes in. The best way to stop that is to get ahead so they have to open the game up. They were a bit ring rusty as predicted, and we went at them early on with a vengeance.
After looking at the video, I don't think Sherring can claim his goal - so we don't get the six scorers record.
I was really impressed by Lemonheigh-Evans' attitude.
He has been brilliant this season in the hole, but with Hall out GJ handed the free role to Little with Lemonheigh-Evans having to drop back to fill the midfield gap. I thought he might be a bit pissed off at that, but he wasn't at all. He worked hard alongside Randell to create the platform for Little to showboat ahead of him.
When Little went off, I thought Andrews would come on and CLE push forward, but we were so on top by then that GJ went for two out and out strikers - for a few minutes until Wight had to go off. Then Andrews did come into midfield and Lemonheigh-Evans went on to prove that he can play the free attacking role even better than Little can.
I have already owned up to calling Nemane wrong as a luxury player - the type who have the skill to play higher but end up moving round the Isthmian / Southern League circuit to earn a few quid. His goal proved the old adage "the harder I work, the luckier I get". For a period in the second half he was absolutely on fire.
I love the 4-2-3-1 formation, but it totally depends on the work-rate of the three. I have mentioned CLE and Nemane. It almost goes without saying now that you get absolute quality from Whitfield in terms of effort and skill.
Some teams play 4-2-3-1 and up with a two outgunned in midfield and a lone isolated striker. We end up with five in midfield AND four up front!
A few people feared we had signed an old-fashioned donkey in Wright and we would end up having to feed him carrots. Could not be further from the truth. Mobile, able to hold the ball and bring oncoming midfielders into the game. Reminds me of Rene Howe's role in Lingy's team. We will miss him if he is out for long.
Cameron and Moxey perfect left side of back four. Sherring did o.k. at right back - a far better fill-in than the other options - but I would love to see him in the middle with Wynter at right back.

With all our injuries we have had in the back four it is quite something that we also have one of the best defensive records in the league conceding just 12, joint with Notts County and only Solihull Moors have gone one better with 11 conceded. The difference being we have slotted in 17 more goals than them!
However, as we have played 2 more games than County and 4 more than Solihull then it can be argued we do have the best record which goes to show the love our players have for their mums!
