Onwards and upwards! 10 points lead another 3 points Tuesday would be good then just one more game to hit the half way point. Just got to hope the decision during the week keeps the season going. I think it will otherwise the National League is in danger of being cut adrift by the EFL and the clubs know it.

That'll do now see it out.. sounded like a great strike from the forgotten man Jake Andrews....... It was a great strike from 25 yards out in a central position into the bottom right hand corner. Came after good work from Randell cutting in from the wing and after a spell of dominant possession from our team. Whitfield could not finish an one on one and Street just shot wide but all the clear chances were from TUFC. Can only recall MacDonald having to deal with a regulation header from a corner in the first half. Job done, 3 away points without being at our best but much needed or first concerns of the season would have been raised.

Three points on the board and that is what matters.
You can see why Barnet are bottom. They give the opposition so much space to play and as Harry Enfield would say “you don’f want to do that”. If we had been “at it” we would have ripped them to shreds and scored a shedload. As it was, we never got out of third gear and you could say we didn’t have to. Hope that means we have more left in the tank for Tuesday.
I was frustrated because I wanted us to get Hall off and rested early. He ended up playing 83 minutes and was very noticeably taken off as soon as went two up.
Moxey’s absence really messed with our shape. Three at the back in theory gave us an extra attacking player allowing us to accommodate both Little and Lemonheigh-Evans as attacking midfielders, but it meant that Nemane, Whitfield, Randell and Hall all shared extra defensive duties reducing their effectiveness. GJ changed it at half-time to go back to 4-2-3-1 but now no Randell in midfield. Will be good to have Moxey back and no more square pegs in round holes.

Yes, large parts of that game were a training game for our midfield. Was actually getting slightly frustrated that nobody pushing on when nearing the edge of their box. Cameron, Randell and Andrews didn’t fancy a training game and showed their determination while we were passing them to death (something I like, but we were so much better than our opposition today and fancied us to be more clinical in the right areas) and was good to see Jake latching onto that ball and burying it.
Asa clearly thought he was coming off on 70ish minutes as he took his armband off and will have been the plan in advance, but Gary Johnson felt forced into keeping him on a bit longer while still at 1-0. Hope he has come away with a clean bill of health after 80 plus minutes in the end. Some more good minutes under the belt for Armani Little, who does have that something special that CLE often has, but who lost the ball a fair bit today.
All that said, it’s a sign of how far we’ve come and what quality we have that there can be any grumbles from me after a 2-0 win away from home. We are a damn good National League side now and deservedly way out front. MacDonald may as well have been sat on a chair with a cup of tea for that second half. Today was a game we needed with two tight 0-0’s against far superior opposition, though. Although Alty on Tuesday will be a much tougher battle for our boys.
MacDonald - 5.5 Tempted no ranking as nothing to do Lewis - 7 Composed throughout and linked up with midfield well Cameron - 7.5 ‘Ave it. No nonsense Sherring - 5.5 Didn't notice him, but no bad thing
Randell - 7.5 Grrr. Terrier Whitfield - 7 Great goal CLE - 6.5 Quieter. Decent enough Hall - 6.5 (9 for just his presence alone) Nemane - 6.5 Not as creative. Grafts when required. Not stretched Little - 5.5 Some time wasteful in possession
Street - 6.5 That’ll do, young man. Shame about the chance from Cameron long ball.
Bench Andrews - 9 point cameo Waters - Not really involved in short time on Sheaf - Not enough time for ranking

Another plus is that its another clean sheet making it three on the bounce. When your not scoring for fun as we did at the start of the season its imperative you defend well stop themm going in the other end. Good job we have a "clown" in goal as the children say in the FB playground .

Good result given the number of enforced changes.Meanwhile Sutton lost at Hartlepool. Yeovil and Hartlepool most points in the league from their last 5 games.

After some top-notch performances had a well deserved quiet day at the office, possibly could’ve kept a clean sheet today wearing clown shoes!

I see that Tim Flowers thought his team gave their best performance since he took over but we were still too good without playing at our best which shows why we have a 34 point gap less than half way through the season.

Wow. They must have been truly awful before. As Jon said, they stood off us way too much. Our inability to get a second had little to do with their resistance, I thought. GJ seems happy with how it all went. And barring a few fan quibbles, 3 points away from home with the lion’s share of possession is something we take all day. I don’t think it will have been too exerting as matches go, but exerting nonetheless. Which is just as well with Altrincham coming in fresh off the back of a weekend off. Fingers crossed no fresh fitness niggles. Yeah, I like the odd random out of 10. Probably been too harsh on Sherring from reading other viewpoints as he certainly didn’t put a foot wrong, but it’s something to do.

As Rob said....re Sherring..when you don't notice a defender it is probably a very good sign.

Highlights up. torquayunited.com/official-tufc-tv-barnet-0-2-torquay-united/ Looked a pretty good and comfortable performance to me with slick passing and great movement. Always different when you watch live but couldn't see a lot wrong with our play, application or commitiment. I got the feeling listening to the match we were not that great. I think many of us have been spoiled by the quality we have produced week in week out under GJ and are possibly becoming over critical. The standards we have set ourselves are high and why we have suchh a lead in the table. Very proud of this group of players. You can see by the final whistle they have left it all out on the pitch - and proud of the incredible dedicated management team of course. Good times like we're experiencing dont come around too often - after fifty plus years of supporting the club I can vouch for that and maybe why I'm so critical of any negativitY or juvenile name calling I read on FB, that could filter back to the club.

Totally agree petef...best squad and best management we have had for many years. Someone mentioned the Webb years earlier....by contrast a low point in our history.
