Did D*ve W*bb really write that he was building a team that was going to have a crack at promotion the following season? We finished even further adrift at the bottom in 1986.

I've been smiling at a few of Webb's remarks in the programmes hector. He comes over as the eternal optimist with real vision which all seems quite amusing now 35 years later when one remembers the actual misery at the time. ⚽️
