Another entry in this series and i did not for the life of me realise Portsmouth used to be Division FOUR!!!

Portsmouth : P6 W2 D0 L4 F4 A10

We played them in the bottom division as recently as 1979. We also had 3 League Cup ties against them. Of course 2 legs as recently as 1999 0-0 and 0-3 respectively and a 1-2 defeat at home in 1972. Now apart from Man U Chelsea etc if we get through to the 4th Round of the FA this year i will take Pompey so i have a 5 minute walk to Fratton Park!!

Think I mentioned in a thread before that home game with Portsmouth (we won 3-2) in October 1979 was my first TUFC game. Next October, the nearest home game to (after) October 4 will mark my 30th anniversary as a paying supporter of this great club we all love.

Just for note my records show the result was 2-1 on the 10th October 1979 if that helps

My next visit was for our League Cup tie in 1999. Pompey goalkeeper Alan Knight appeared in both games!
