A friend of mine Sean McCarthy in the Swansea line up. He lives in the same town as me. The Swansea scorers aren't shown but Sean normally seemed to score against us so wouldn't be surprised if he got at least one of them. The following season he scored for Swansea in both legs of the play-off final against us, an agonising 4-5 aggregate defeat.
I can remember giving Sean, Micky Heathcote, and Paul Wotton a lift back to Ivybridge after Argyle had beaten us 4-0 at Plainmoor. It saved the Argyle team coach having to come off the A38 on the way back. It was a very quiet journey as they had been warned that one word out of place would see them dropped off at Buckfastleigh. 😂⚽️
