Reading the Weymouth fans forum this morning they seem to think that they will be signing Phillips from Rushden & Diamonds, as a replacement for their player Beavon.
The thread had Beavon linked with a move to Bournemouth. another poster thought that Tindall would be been more keen than Quinn to sign Beavon, so aslong Tindall is still at Bournemouth then they might put another offer in for him.
Phillips going to Weymouth would make sense for him, not only has he played for them before, but it would a move closer to home for him. We will have to wait for any news.

Yes I think many fans would be happy, but he has not set the world on fire lately with many goals. I do wonder if Phillips would want to go to Weymouth.
I say that only because my understanding is that they will be going part time next season. They simply won't be able to maintain a full time side, so any player moving there on a full time contract, just mind find he will need to get a paper round as well next season.

I think the people who have blabbered the name of the striker we hope to have on board soon are naive in the extreme if they are from truly within the football club, and totally lacking in scruples if they are from amongst those who have a conduit of genuine information and that is because (as they said in WW2) "Careless Talk Costs.........."in this case it could be another club coming in with a last gasp better offer that scuppers OUR efforts. Some people are so full of themselves and their self perceived "super fan" status, they do not even stop to think of the possible consequences of such loose talk. I'm not saying a particular deal WILL be scuppered, but it COULD be; and one such indiscretion WILL be the scuppering of a deal one day in the future. Nothing is done until "The Fat Lady Sings" as they say, remember Nikki Bull?

That sums up SG perfectly, self appointed super fan with insider knowledge. Pisses me right off with his self pontificating diatribe! "Look at me, I`m the best fan on the planet!" Bollocks no-one is! Right got that off my chest, feel a lot better now! Must stop drinking energy drinks for breakfast!

Exactly Merse... surely those who have information are given it as they are either seen to be friends who will be trustworthy with said information and won't divulge it or are given it to be leaked in which case they are being used... These 'super fans' are so egotistical they either believe they are somehow required to impart their knowledge for the greater good... false... or love the fact that they look to be 'close' to the 'top'? But I don't know anyone in that position within the club who would divulge these 'inner workings' knowing they would be spread about? Those true friends of the club would not stoop so low...

BudleighGull. many months ago I was told by someone who at that time was very close to the club, that the club was aware a person was leaking information to a person, who was posting the leaks on a forum. My understand was they just were not sure who the mole was.
When some stories are put on any forum, you have to question why the news breaker has made the post and really have to ask what are the reasons for doing so and more importantly, what impact it has on the club.
I get all sorts of so called information sent by PM and email etc, while I always sent a reply, I seldom will put anything told to me in this way on the forum. I could have so easily not so long ago, allowed this forum to run what was later to appear on another forum, but it is my view that as I'm a fan just like all the other members, why would I want to run something that just might derail the club.
Any person ruining a forum would like to have exclusives, be the first one with the news, even more so when it has another forum running along side it. The problem is that you really need to ask why you have been giving the information, anyone giving me any will know full well that I run a forum and that I might want to broadcast on it.
I feel this forum does not need to try and get posts by running some of the threads you will read elsewhere, if it means the forum does not have headline breaking stories I can live with that. I would much rather read you views on games, how our players are performing, Brett's lost grounds and the posts of members like Barton Downs.
The forum is independent of the club, but it is here for supporters and I believe the forum itself should be a supporter as well and not risk causing harm, just so It can run the latest scandal.
I did laugh when I read a post on EX web, on the thread started in the banter board about this forum, one poster claimed he got more replies than any member on here, on the threads he started. It would be nice to read a match report from him, or even a post about a game from the past. Yes I have written some long posts that failed to get even one reply, but people read the post and I would rather have that, then get 50 replies because I wrote a post to attack those who are entrusted to run the club and take it forward for the good of the club and all its supporters.

I believe its just a inferiority thing and somewhat resembles the small (sorry Dave!) man who has to impress in other ways. The "Look at me" attitude look what I can do or in this case what confidential information I have to share with the world I without realising the implications. That is if he is a real Torquay man as I have often seen his posts to City fans on Exeweb and they seem to like the guy.
His posts concerning the "alleged" serious rift and call for resignations highlighted the fact that he doesn't really care about what the consequences of these slanderous accusations may be and although we all read his inside info I am afraid the words of this self proclaimed Messiah I take with a pinch of salt. No offence but I believe he is the one with the problem.

Pete the words small and Dave will it seems always be a feature on here its all done in good fun and lets be honest, I can't really go around saying I'm a big man, I once worked as a glass collector at a nudist camp. I loved the job and would walk across the dance floor to collect the used glasses. Things were going so well until one night the DJ played the TWIST, I was nearly clubbed to death and gave up the job do something a bit safer.

Paul Buckle is intimating (BBC Sport/Football/Non Lge) today that any further signings in the transfer window hinge on how we perform between the ending of the window and now. That sounds fair enough to me. I think even Burton Albion must look at our squad with an air of respect. Surmising that there MAY be something in the Stuart Beavon "story", one would assume with Matt Green starting to repay faith and the startling improvement from Roscoe Dsane; the addition of another striker would only mean the club MIGHT be looking to unload Elliott Benyon out on loan somewhere and probably Danny Stephens too as they would then BOTH appear to be somewhat more on the periphery than near to a starting berth.......................whilst if someone wanted to pay money for them it would have to be considered as the club are honour bound to make any player the subject of an enquiry/offer aware of the situation. There is a lot for the manager to consider as he has already alluded to the dangers of affecting the close knit and strong willed team spirit within the squad and the last thing he wants is a new signing feeling at a loose end because he can't break into the starting lineup. Then there is the million dollar question as to what league we will be in next season, there will be two or three he doesn't see as League2 material for sure whilst they would be perfectly adequate for our needs in the BSP..........................management ain't easy that's for sure!

I would be quite surprised if we didnt make one or two permanent additions to the squad this month - and of course it is always a possibility that we will see some movement out as well.
It is clear that our promotion rivals, in just the first week of the windw opening, have already made moves to strengthen their squads - as of course have we with the addition of Tristan Plummer and the permanent signing of Scott Bevan.
Cambridge Utd - are rumoured to be about to add ex Gull (albeit very briefly!) Daryl McMahon from Stevenage to their squad.
Histon - have paid money for Adam Bygrave (£5000) from Weymouth as well as bringing in Marlon Patterson from Dagenham & Redbridge on loan.
Crawley - made an unsuccesful bid for Matt Pattison at Woking, but have had more luck today with bringing in Jon Shaw (ex Burton, Halifax) on loan from Rochdale until the end of the season - a very good addition to what is already a strong squad in my opinion.
Wrexham - have completed the permanent signing of Sam Williamson from Man City, and I have no doubt there will be more movements in and out over the course of the next few weeks.
Burton - have also brought in Jamie Yates a young winger/striker on loan from Rotherham.
It could be a very interesting few weeks in the BSP I reckon.

York have signed Kyle Kritchell on loan from Wrexham.
Colchester have had a 6-figure sum for Mike Williamson turned down.
Barnsley are now interested in Jamie Ward.
