Cant let this season go by without a memory of one of my top ten away trips ever ! The train timetable said it coudnt be done but oh what a trip. I could wax lyrical about diesel train haulage etc but anyway......

I was there Neil. Burnden Park was 3 parts stadium, one part supermarket, bizarre. That Gardiner goal ranks as one of the best I have ever seen in a Torquay shirt. Shame it wasn't captured on film. Gerry Nardiello was in good form as well. That was a good team.

Love the commentary and a good find it is nearly old enough to be in black and white 😉⚽️

Thank you Jon, I never thought it was filmed. Yes, I too love the commentary, proper Lancs accent. You can imagine the whippet cowering under the table as the commentator fulminated over the Bolton goal. And what a goal by Gardiner. Is there a better one on film? Can't think of any although one of the Hartlepool goals away this season was pure class, reminiscent of Leeds v. Southampton in early 70's when the home side strung together about 40 passes before scoring.
