This match can only be remembered for the terrible injury inflicted to John Uzzell by Gary Blissett which ended his football career.
I remember it as it was yesterday.
I was at same end as it happened and clearly remember the sound of Blissetts elbow crashing in to Johns face and then the gasps of the shocked crowd. The ref didn't even blow for a foul. He eventually sent Blissett off and also the very upset Paul Compton. There was also a third sending off. Who was that?
Blissett was cleared of GBH.
