Good result in the end and actually there have been a lot of good results lately. The last 7 league games have seen us win 5, draw 1 with 1 defeat. Averaging 2 goals a game over those 7 matches, whilst we have conceded 8. 5th in the form table over last 5 games and whilst the play-offs are not probably realistic, we are now just 7 points off them (although Notts County do have 3 games in hand). Are the self-proclaimed expert(s) on BTPIR still demanding Gary Johnson is sacked or have they all gone quiet on that point? Certainly turned it around and were the better team against Eastleigh until we ran out of steam due the disadvantage of having played 48 hours before and even then it took a dodgy penalty to win which suggests we are now hard to beat. Third in the last 6 form table. Football is all about opinions but I don’t think anyone is currently suggesting Johnson should be sacked?

I’ve just seen the BT highlight show with the goals. MacDonald must have been unsighted for their goal as it was about 30 yards out, well hit into the corner but certainly not a screamer and he didn’t seem to get anywhere near it. We were very lucky late on with a close range header hitting our defender on the goal line and scrambled away when should have been in. Nice touch from Wright to put the Lemon clear for our opening goal which was calmly taken. Later on after a nice turn in the penalty area to gain a yard of space, showed a lack of composure to hit over from 10 yards out with just the keeper to beat. Wearne’s goal initially came from an interception but he still had two defenders around him and found space to calmly slot the ball away and certainly knows where the goal is.

So another win under the belt, and the way we’re playing at the moment made me feel confident enough to throw a few quid at us. Unfortunately, lost that money on Valencia when the other lot decided to score two goals in extra time!
But enough of my woes in this time of merriment.
Yes indeed, the anti-Johnson Brigade must be feeling somewhat foolish at this time, and I’ll even go as far to say, that someone who thinks that others are Morons is actually a Moron themselves! 🦦

Commentators suggested the new man playing centre-midfield alongside Hall. Strange if true. Assumed he would be wide right in a 4-2-3-1. Or are Little and Lemon both floating around covering wide right and the hole?? Sound like CLE is on the right. Torquay Talk has Duke-McKenna wide right and Lemon more central, which makes more sense. 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1 not much different really. Not an absolute science. More the former under pressure and the latter when in possession. Am sure that Hall played deeper than Little and Little deeper than Lemon. torquaytalk.com/2022/01/23/tt-match-verdict-altrincham-1-2-tufc-22nd-jan-2022/

Based on how we lined up against Solihull, it looks like Radio Devon was right and Torquay Talk wrong. I imagine we trained in that shape during the week assuming Lapslie would start alongside Hall with Duke-McKenna on the bench. When Lapslie pulled out, it was then a straight swap rather than a total reshuffle.
