This match starts a run of five home games out of the next seven and with the two away games being at Dover and Wealdstone it can be seen that continuing our good home form (19 points out of 24) will propel us up the table towards the play-off zone.
Lewis and Moxey left some very big shoes to fill in the centre of defence and to only concede one long-range shot away from home on Saturday has got to be a good confidence booster for the likes of Omar and with Chiori seemingly doing well filling at right back we may just be about ok. Despite Lapslie not quite being fit, our midfield and forward line is looking strong buttressed by two new loan signings that will only get better and we just need to be a bit more clinical in front of goal and hopefully a supportive home crowd can will those goals in.
Solihull Moors seem to be a typical fringe play off / upper table side, very competitive for this league, blew away Dover and Maidenhead 5-0 and 4-0 respectively with danger man Andrew Dallas scoring five at Dover on Saturday before being subbed after 54 minutes to keep him fresh for against us. Their losses have only been against top of the table sides with Stockport and Bromley turning them over recently, also won 2-0 against Woking and drew 0-0 away at Eastleigh which as we know to our cost is never an easy place to go. They are five points ahead of us with a game in hand so getting a good result against them is really important with it being the proverbial six pointer. Win this with two key players missing then I think our campaign to make the play off will be on the cards.

I fear Solihull may test our makeshift back four more than Altrincham did.
Would love to have Lewis and Moxey back. Funnily enough the Wynter and Omar pairing has the same one right footer / one left footer, one better on the ground / one better in the air balance.
If just Lewis returned, you could have two right footers or two better in the air. If just Moxey, two left footers or two better on the ground.
Happy with front six from Saturday but worried about Hall lasting two times ninety minutes, so would be good to have Lapslie available. Would like to see Moore on the bench - but only if he is actually fit enough to come on.
Solihull not favourites to make the playoffs but are in the group between us and those who are. A win would close the gap on them and keep alive that little glimmer of hope of gatecrashing the playoff party.

link - very familiar face in the opposition lineup with Mark Ellis signing on loan until the end of the season and straight into the fray. link - As for us, looks like an unchanged lineup.

We adapted at short notice pretty well on Saturday but I fear this one will be a much tougher test for our makeshift backline. Mark Ellis he just can stay away...

Just not good enough really. Half the team missing again because we went out of the FA Trophy too early. You only keep the winning feeling and the desire and determination to play and not feign injury by continuing to win games and not losing cup ties. 😉⚽️

A pity we were unable to get anything from the game as over the first 75 minutes but we just about had the better of the chances and were unlucky not to get at least one of the two penalty decisions that the referee had to make. Solihull were able to bring on a couple of substitutes later on which freshened things up for them whereas Johnson did not have the same confidence in his bench. Mark Ellis did what he does best and hoovered up all the aerial threats, made easier by Wright pulling up injured very early on.

As I left the ground (quickly) I saw a mist disappearing over town and could heard Bob Dylan singing “Your playoff hopes are blowing in the wind”. Nowhere good enough.
Not sure what injury Wrighty picked up, but hopefully we’ll see him around Easter. Any news on Moore?
Shame we couldn’t have signed Ellis, he’s the sought of player that’s required at CB. No offence but Wynter and Moxey aren’t CB’s.Omar is but isn't!
Martin continues to shine.
Thought Solihull played the ball on the deck well, five passes or so and there were as BD would sing “Knocking on Heavens Door”. Five passes for us and we go from left to right ☹ THought they were a good solid and strong side.
I see that Dallas scored five last week, how many have our front three scored all season?

Thought Desperado on .com summed it up very well
“thought Dagenham and Solihull were much better than us, quicker, sharper , stronger , superior passing and movement.”

Time to bring out the slippers and pipe, and kickback for the rest of the season. We can still mathematically reach the playoffs, but I’m not holding my breath.
Time to prepare for next season: clear out the ‘Deadwood’ and get the stage…set for August.
Most of our best players jumped ship last year, but who can blame them, after having to be involved in the most pointless competition known to man…they are after all, supposedly professional players!
Fortunately, we didn’t go far in the most pointless competition known to man this time, so we might be able to retain a couple of good players..notice how I use the word couple.

Few positives from last night but at least Omar had a cracking game. Should have been MOM. Lets hope he can continue. Why oh why didn't we get Mark Ellis on loan. Would have done a cracking job for us. He would rather be down here. Wright probably out for a decade. Agree with posters, big clear out needed. Thought the pop side were great last night. Roll on the 2022/23 season, this ones over although would love to be proved wrong.
Bit of luck the National League will be come League 3 for season 2023/24.

A shame if Wright is out for any length of time we have much better shape and threat when he's on the pitch and firing. Was it hamstring again? Wouldn't surprise me after a tough game on Saturday and tight muscles. Sadly Holman is not the answer and is not really a GJ type of player in my opinion. Im sure he has qualities but work rate and closing down defenders isn't one of them and has rarely looked a big enough threat in and around the box where we all hoped he would be effective. Maybe the break he had away from the game took its toll.
Time now for the manager to take stock of who will be here for next season and who and what type of player he wants next term. A little experimentation and some good and thorough scouting over the next few months is required though undoubtedly it is all ready going on by GJ's interview. Last season for Asa I fancy, time is catching up and looks like he's treading water against speedy young players. Danny Wright picking up injuries sadly. If he's in his final season at this level then he will be very difficult to replace. This is the one are Gj has never had tied down and a good job we have midfielders who step up and score a few. If that crucial position could be addressed then we would have been further up the table and more competitive. Additionally we have to get things into perspective. When the likes of national league Wrexham are forking out 300k for a second rate league striker it makes you wonder how we will ever get the chance to ever escape this league.

Holman is a poor man’s Billy Waters, isn’t he? The goals will have to continue to come from midfield or set pieces. 7th seems a way off. But two wins in two and we will start believing again, I’m sure.
