Moxey out. Omar in. Opi Edwards on bench.Probably 4-2-3-1. Lemon or Little wide left? Or could it be Hall sweeper allowing Wynter and Martin to provide the width?

Time to put few to the test on the run in to see if they're worth another contract. Like to see Opie Edwards have a run but his injury issues are still limiting his pitch time which is a problem for him. Still think GJ would take him for free if he was available and hope he can keep injury free has the quality but would be a big gamble. Would consider Omar, O'Connell as boarder line keepers. I feel Felix, Lolos and Holman and perhaps Halstead will already be looking for pastures new.
Individual performances from peripheral "squad players" now more important than results and GJ will have to make room to improve the quality of the squad though I fear we may see another exodus of our best players.

Sounds like certain players are already out the door, including some he would have liked to have kept. I very much doubt all of Little, Evans and Lewis will be here next season. Huge rebuild required..

I thought that the game suffered from the defeat last week at Grimsby that effectively ended our season. Both players and fans “going through the motions”. No real chants or singing until the last 10 minutes. With regards to who will stay and who will go - what to make of Lewis’s celebration of making a heart around the club badge on his shirt? I love this club and going to stay or more likely, I love this club but it’s time to go?

I love this club and going to stay or more likely, I love this club but it’s time to go? Hopefully the former. The game came alive for us during the last five minutes but prior to that it was a rather lacklustre performance where we were probing without much success. Lapslie had a great opportunity being put through for an one and one with their keeper but his finish was just knocked straight into him. I thought their goal was taken very well, the scorer controlling the ball from a freekick then delightfully chipping our defender creating the space to smash the ball home leaving McDonald no chance. Wynter gave us a bit of hope hooking the ball skilfully back to the far post where Lewis was there to head home, literally as normal time came to a close. We actually had two very good chances in five minutes of injury time to win it. The best of those was when Lolas got clear and maybe should have shot but he hasn’t played too much recently and perhaps with lack of confidence tried to do the unselfish thing and cross the ball but unfortunately it took a touch on their defender and looped up for their keeper to easily collect. Literally with the last touch of the game Wright managed a header which was well saved by the keeper who seem to have a safe pair of hands. I think even a win today would have been academic but as you say it was the result at Grimsby that effectively ended our season.

Good analysis rjdgull. You’re right about their goal which around me on the Pop Side was greeted with nods of approval. I thought Lapslie was great being terrier like in the midfield. Someone said that he was on a 2 year contract so I’ll look forward to watching him again next season.

Too little too late. Our season in a nutshell. Yesterday’s match in a nutshell.
NLP reckons we played a back four. Do these people watch the game? Torquaytalk calls it right as it usually does.
A proper end-of-season, nothing-to-play-for game. In the good old days before playoffs and automatic relegation, these used to start in February.
In the first half, we went back to our mid-season style of some nice passing without the zip or energy to worry the opposition.
We didn’t really turn up after half-time and no surprise when Maidenhead took the lead with an excellent strike.
Maidenhead then slowed the game down as you would expect but definitely within the bounds of “game management” rather than the blatant cheating we saw from Eastleigh.
We woke up right at the end, grabbed an equaliser and could or should have won it in injury time.
Fortunately, the fact that we didn’t doesn’t really matter.
One more home game, then the one after that will see us right in the promotion race. For how long, I wonder.

The match for me was summed up when Little got a little frustrated and kicked the ball away from Bristol’s bench/home stand corner area to the other side when we were still one nil down.
Lollos could have won it for us but fluffed his lines…
