Unlike us, Dagenham are very much in the playoff hunt so this will be a tough away game coming just two days after Saturday’s insipid match. Gary played his strongest squad on Saturday but why start the likes of Wright and Hall who will be at risk of picking up an injury and maybe time to blood a few players playing for a new contract to least show what they can do against a good side. Part of the reason Lolas may have missed his chance was through lack of match practice so personally would like to see him start.
COYY.

While we are completely out of the play off picture three of our final four games are against teams competing for promotion, a couple hoping we can perform and cause an upset to aid their cause.
Chesterfield, our next weeks opponents seem to have self imploded after the loss of Tishmanga and a few other key players. They face a wounded Stockport today and need a result today and next week. D&R, todays opponents and the only realistic challengers to the top seven will be desperate to keep the ball rolling with a win today against a season weary Utd with only pride to play for. A win for them and a loss for Chesterfield will close the gap to a single point. Stockport, our final day opponents looked uncatchable a few games ago but now look vulnerable to Wrexham's late run and challenge and have now lost three of their last five. Notts County another club on a wobble will be a bundle of nerves today but should be able to overcome the divisions whipping boys Dover though of late they have been putting in some spirited performances and will not be taken lightly. With just one automatic place up for grabs I'm relieved were out of the picture and don't have to endure the agony of poor refereeing and another close call that shatters confidence and ruins preparations for the following season. We have a period where the manager can prepare properly for next seasons campaign. Just how many of our best core player will still be here is anyone's guess but GJ hinted that one or two are likely to be moving on. My guess its likely to be CLE, AL and JL who are attracting interest from rivals. GJ also mentioned Marquee signings whatever that means as I haven't seen one of those since we signed the late Justin Fashanu 30 odd years ago! More likely the squad will be made up of our existing old heads and more youngsters with "promise" . Whatever GJ I feel has long been in the process of preparing for the worst with an exodus of players he wants to keep and speaking to a few that he would like to sign. The player merry go round will continue and we will always be vulnerable to losing our best players when we have some success and why IMHO its highly unlikely we will ever really be able to build a successful squad good enough to escape this division and back to the football league.

Martin misses out after picking up a knock on Saturday. Johnson comes in. Would expect Duke-McKennna to move to left wing back. Felix added to the bench.
Will be interesting to see how Hall, Lapslie and Wright stand up to two matches in three days.
Was hoping we would top the four team 8th -11th mini-league, but need a win today to keep that alive. 11th looking more likely than 8th unless we can get our mojo back.

Will be interesting to see if Edwards gets on. I cannot believe we would have left him on the bench in the last few games if he were anything near fit. Is he just listed on the team sheet although unfit to to make up the numbers? Even though he seems to have lost a yard of pace since he was last here, he would be better than anything else we have had on the bench recently.

Judging by past signings, could be anything from manky, to donkey to marquee! Perhaps he has lined up some signings from our neighbours up and down the road?

Would expect Duke-McKennna to move to left wing back. . Wrong! Johnson on the left. Whether that is left-back in a back 4 or left-wing-back in front of a back three is another question. Opinions may vary on that.

0-0.
Even Chelston will have to face up to the fact that we can’t now make the playoffs now.
Finishes off our mathematical chances of winning the 2027 European Champions’ League too.
.. unless we win the FA Cup and the Europa League and get in that way. Could happen, I suppose.

Reset and go again next season. This season was always going to be a mission impossible after we lost all our best players at the end of last season. Fingers crossed for those proverbial marquee signings.
