The programme reveals so,e future links between the two sides; McFarland, Preece, Van Huesden and Alex Russell at Cambridge and Luke Gutteridge (who went to Cambridge) in the Torquay youth team. In fact, I think he was the only player in that youth team squad who made it as a pro. Things looked big for Troy Doughlin for a while when he spent time with Celtic but it all amounted to nothing in the end.
The appointment of Wes Saunders as manager was ridiculous; utterly without merit and reason - a dereliction of duty from those running the club. It wasn’t the first time nor was it the last.

That game would have also been Alex Russell's debut for Cambridge following his summer move from Rochdale.
