Interesting parting comments from Compo here! Clearly still a a little raw which is fair enough. Those comments would have had the message boards opining nowadays and I quite like the honesty.. I didn’t know him, but on the face of it he seemed a personable bloke who gave it his all, but, as he acknowledges, he wasn’t ready for first team football league management and it was a poor appointment by Mike Bateson.
A great club man however, and good to see that he seems to have gone on to have a good career in youth development. Might be a similar story for Kevin Nicholson, but there maybe time for Kevin to get back into management if he wishes.
