Interesting to see the new (and maybe short lived) Chelsea manager in (quite dreadful) York colours. I hated that York kit with its racing flag sleeve which I believe was because their owner was something to do with motor-racing.

It was news to me, but I have just spent a short period of time reading all about John Batchelor's exploits in football from wikipedia ( John Batchelor). He bought York City in March 2002 and they were in administration by December. Not a great record for a businessman... It's always a tragedy when someone dies young (irrespective of how they might have potentially destroyed your football club) and that he died an alcoholic might demonstrate what a troubled life he had.

I hadn’t realised his life had come to such a premature and tragic end.
