I remember this game and seem to recall being stood at the Babbacombe End for some reason, quite near to a smattering of MK Dons fans. They fascinated me in a way because it was the first season of MK Dons and the feeling against them was pretty strong, so those travelling away to support what was a Frankenstein club at the time, seemed bizarre. Were they Wimbledon fans? Were they people from MK who actually went straight to travelling away commitment the moment this team appeared in their midst?
Now that they’ve been there for almost 20 years, I can appreciate that locals to MK might go a,one and follow them (despite the way the club came about but back in 2004, I couldn’t.
I think this win either started or was part of a little run that almost saved us.
