Problem is we are starting to put together a team for the NLS. A sudden reprieve might just be delaying our stint in the NLS by one season.

Happy to drop down to NLS for a number of reasons: we should win a lot more games…which means we should have a chance of promotion (NL no chance unless through the playoffs)…we might actually score from a corner…earlier into ‘THAT’ competition!
Yet again though, we need to get on our knees and thank Sweet Jesus that Sharkey is the owner of our club…praise Jesus. 🙏

There’s a desperate need in English football for better regulation of how clubs are run, whether it’s in the first tier to stop countries with dodgy human rights records buying clubs or in the first step where clubs face existential crises through the incompetence or greed of their owners. The Fan Led Review recommendations cannot be implemented soon enough.
It looks as if Southend will join the ever growing list of failed clubs. Fingers crossed that if it happens the Shrimpers Trust can launch a phoenix club for Southend’s loyal following to get behind.
Personally, I wouldn’t want a reprieve from the NLS at the expense of another club. You never know when the failing club might be ours!
Besides, I’ve just got used to looking forward to popping down to the local derby against Truro at Plymouth Parkway.

Aldershot and Southend were the two straws that I was grasping at! We were talking about Southend at the post-Wrexham relegation party in a pub full of Wrexham fans but at least we had Chelston to cheer us all up that evening.
It may be that the frozen season ticket price is better value than what you give it credit for Bobgull?
NL AGM is normally early to mid June so should find out in a month or so either way. Good point about the effect on recruitment Plainmoorpete if we were reprieved although quite a bit of business is done after this date.

Having had one of my rare butchers at the so called ‘kiddies site’, (whoever named it that was spot on) I read a post from a Southend fan stating that all their problems stemmed from the owner…seemingly he takes all the profits and just keeps the club on life support!
Fortunately, we do not have that problem at TUFC, because we have an owner with integrity and honesty (sniff 🫶) and a clear love for our club, even though he is berated from every corner by individuals who do not have the wherewithal to understand the situation we find ourselves in, and the debt we owe to this man. 🥹

So the Day of Judgement cometh…shortly.
When I say the above, I don’t mean The Loony Party (or Labour as they’re better known) getting into power, but the upcoming Southend thingy.
A lot of people are saying we deserve to be where we are and wouldn’t want to be returned to the NL because of Southends misfortunes…which of course is rubbish. By Hook or by Crook we need to get back to the NL whatever the misfortunes of other clubs are…self inflicted misfortunes I might add. I think though, that some of you might need an example…so let’s have a look at the recent activities of The Loony Party.
Following in the footsteps of his Idol, Blair, Jimmy Starmer is now going to use the majority of the population (or immigrants) to help swing the next election in his favour, by giving virtually every person now in the country the right to vote. Brexit will also become a ‘best of three option’ with a pretty much guaranteed future referendum on the subject. Brexit has obviously not worked to the extent some of us hoped, mainly because of total incompetence on the British side (the one reason Brexit happened in the first place has not been addressed in any shape or form), and the vast number of total arseholes on the European side. I’m sure though, that Jimmy Starmer has a lot more odious plans stuck in his stocking tops!
So lots to look forward to. 👀

Southend’s owner has paid up at the last minute many times before. Nothing to see here re both them and Aldershot, I suspect.

Southend’s owner has paid up at the last minute many times before. Nothing to see here re both them and Aldershot, I suspect. Yes, in all probability you are correct, but there is a primordial sense that is innate in all of us. When someone says “don’t look behind you”…you look behind you. You go to bed at night and quickly move those feet under the covers, for fear of the entity lurking there, because in the distant past there would have been something there. So we move on to Southend…don’t look. 🫣
