NLSW1: Torquay United v Moneyfields FC 2pm 3rd Sept 23

A very belated and brief match report. Incredibly frustrating match where we went 2 up after around two minutes 10 minutes with two quick fire goes from Emma Hollingsworth from set pieces, one with a good header and another from a corner that was passed out to her to shootinto the corner of the net. Moneyfields were very much in disarray at this point but got back into the match with a very dubious penalty, other end of the pitch for me but I thought double goalscorer Emma just shielded the ball and blocked off their striker but speaking to her after she came off, she insinuated it was actually a dive.

To make matters worse, another very dubious free-kick right on the side line of the area was given a few minutes later and the delivery saw the loose ball in the box eventually put away and Moneyfields were right back in it and now it was the turn of Torquay to be in disarray, and 2 quick fire goals were conceded just before half-time .

In a second half it look like Torquay had a chance of making a fight back when a cross come shot went straight into the top left hand corner, but it was flagged for offside. I actually videoed this looking back Kilburn- Thompson was in an offside position and jumped in front of the keeper and the Lino deemed her to be active, even though she didn’t impede the keepers view of the ball and it would’ve gone in anyway. To make matters worse just before full-time Moneyfields cracked a lovely shot into the top corner of a goal from 20 yards out to heap more misery on the women.

Did not deserve that result and certainly that scoreline which was down to some really poor officiating.
