Think you may have hit the proverbial nail on the head Rags....lack of coaching. I was just thinking an experienced centre half might be able to organise things a bit. Perhaps an experienced defensive midfielder to sit in front of the back four. I actually think Donnellan is a weakness at right-back: he seems just the sort of player to organise the back four and, more importantly, the midfield around him*. It doesn't matter how good the defence is if the midfield part like the proverbial sea when the opposition attack. Edit: * what I meant to say is that Donnellan would be better as a defensive midfielder than a right back. Of course, perhaps that is what McGavin is meant to be doing, but if that is the case then he is ineffective in that role.

Agree..from the very little I have seen..highlights...our midfield looks like it has been porous for the past few seasons. A National league South Amrabat would be very useful.

So our hope (now a vain one) of being fitter than other teams due to our status as a so-called professional team, went down the shitter rather quickly. Although in our defence one of their goal scorers, a road sweeper I'm led to believe, is bound to be fitter than our players now that Autumn is here.
Still, onwards and…

I'm appalled that teams still score against us from corners…not just once but twice! 🤨

I'm appalled that teams still score against us from corners…not just once but twice! 🤨 But not at all surprised. After all we were vulnerable for the majority of all last season. Why we are where we are and for reasons only known to the manager and those inside the club. Its carrying on as it was and the basic problem has not been addressed. It has been and still is our achilles heel and without our very capable keeper being in top form for this opening period we would undoubtedly be languishing in the bottom half of the table. It can surely only be loyalty to certain players. GJ perhaps giving them the opportunity to establish themselves, justifying his decisions to give them long contracts, budget restrictions or both. In 2018 GJ was given a free license to bring in some genuine quality to add to an a very capable squad already here. That tipped the balance and changed our fortunes. It was as simple as it could be for the incoming manager to get us out of this division when you look back at the players at his disposal. I cant see that happening again for whatever reason. No incomings on the horizon where we were in anticipation almost every week of squad strengthening back on hias arrival in 2018 with most having an immediate impact. The arrival of yet another green inexperienced forward being the only exception. Maybe GJ is biding his time and waiting for the return of Asa Hall and Kevin Dawson but these are midfield players prone to injury and will take some time to get up to speed and match fit.... only to end up out again for months soon after no doubt. Watching the managers body language in his post match interview suggests he's used up the player budget and is resigned to what he's got at the club. Not an ounce of fire or passion in his response and looked resigned and powerless to those "searching" questions.
