First question is whether this game will be on after heavy rain both overnight and this week although weather is set fair this afternoon so hopefully the pitch drainage will be up to the task. link - TUFC match preview.. It was a clear cut, win for Yeovil at Plainmoor when they last visited 10 days ago although the squad that day was not great with new additions Archer not getting on the pitch and Dolan being too ill to make any meaningful contribution. Whether we now have enough “quality” to give a very in form Yeovil a good game or indeed they are up for this competition remains to be seen….

I make this one Gary Johnsons 250th in charge of the club. Lovely touch by the club to reduce prices for this one. Ownership, Management and Supporters together as one ! COYY !

No mention on the OS re any pitch inspection. Change of plan, will be at the game now 😀 If we were a normal football club, no mention of the weather or pitch inspections would obviously mean game definitely on. With our dysfunctional club, you would not put it past them to be selling tickets at a £2 premium, whilst knowing the game will be off. See you later - but double check before leaving home!

I wonder if Gary Johnson will again grant Yeovil free license to wander through our midfield or make some attempt to stop them this time.
I expect Yeovil will rotate their squad, but they do not have the amount of dross in their squad that we do - so not sure if that will help us much.
I would have rested Hall for Tuesday, but with that off I hope he will play in front of the back three. Would not want him to play more than 70 minutes though.
I would hope Dolan’s illness has passed so he can start. Without Lapslie,we desperately need his energy. He must have still been very ill last Saturday if we brought Crowe on ahead of him.
I wonder if the new loanee might play at left wing back? Seems a bit of a rookie, but hope he is fit for purpose. It still rankles with me that we passed up the chance of Ryan Law to sign an unfit Dan Martin just because Johnson and Downes “like him”.
Could be any of three keepers, and could be no keeper on the bench or two keepers on a seven man bench! Halstead must start if fit.
Archer is cup-tied but McGavin returns after suspension. You could almost get away with hiding McGavin in a three man midfield with Hall and Dolan doing his work for him.
With our new loanee on board, we would need just one out of Craske, Marshall, Lapslie and Martin available to make it look like we have six outfield players on the bench. I would definitely not risk Lapslie unless 100% fit - which he won’t be.

Change of scenery in the pop side today to see us win well where we were clearly the better team with Dolan showing the quality we have desperately needed all season to set up the first goal, score the second and could have had another that was harshly disallowed.
Crowe was back in the side, but in a unusual left back position where he did well, and, started the move that led to our first goal early doors by passing to Dolan who knows how to create space, drawing a number of players to him and then putting De Silva clear on the right wing who was able to run into the penalty area cutting back on his left hand side to rifle the ball home for an early lead.
We continued to dominate the half and Dolan looked like he scored a second dispossessing a Yeovil defender of the ball and firing home from just outside the penalty area but the ref harshly adjudged a foul. Just felt for much of the match that Yeovil were getting the rub of the green from him. Another instance was when Ash was pushed in the back in the first half so he cannot get to the ball in the area, nothing given, in the second half Williams, did enough to get away from two defenders and went down under pressure from them in the area and somehow that was a free kick to Yeovil?
I can only remember one corner from Yeovil in the first half which harmlessly went straight out and Lovett just had to make the one save and we were perhaps unlucky to go in just a goal to the good. That was put right about three minutes into the second half with Dolan again, having the ball just outside the area and his shot may have taken a slight deflection, but squeezed into the bottom left hand corner of the goal, Yeovil, then opted for a number of subs with Noble eventually coming on around the hour mark and for the first time we were put under some pressure although by no means back to the wall.
Just when it looked like it was going to be a comfortable win, another foul given by the ref to Yeovil with yellow card bonus for Dolan was floated into the area and the ball was knocked home to make for a tense finale. We came under quite a bit of pressure and deep into injury time. Noble had a chance to score with the ball just going wide of the left hand post, so it was with some relief that the final whistle came and we were still ahead!
