I suppose the first question for the game today after a hard frost last night is whether it is game on although the sun is out and hopefully we should be good by 3pm. Tonbridge are just a point below us in the league and therefore, we need another home win today, to consolidate our position in the playoffs. We will need to do it without Dolan, who has looked a cut above the rest since he came in. A lot has been written about the club’s lack of communication to fans, and there has been some movement on this during the last few days although that has mainly come about from the peaceful sit in protest scheduled for just 15 minutes after the final whistle today, and this is still on, to hold the owner’s feet to the fire so to speak link - TUFC match preview

Tonbridge Angels. Had to research this one. According to wikipedia Roy Hodgson used to play for them.

Tonbridge Angels. Had to research this one. According to wikipedia Roy Hodgson used to play for them. Ex-Gull Tom Warrilow managed then from about 2007 to 2014. He played 2 games for us and I witnessed one of them, away at Peterborough sometime in the late 80s... [Edit] Turns out it was April 25th 1987. We lost 2-1. At the time I thought he was the worst defender I'd seen playing for us in the 15 years I'd been supporting this club. Since then there have been plenty of defenders worse than Warrilow...

A young trialist just back from a spell in Australia. When the transfer window closed in the "Bryn season", we had just 12 fit pros (Impey, Musker and Nardiello long-term injured) plus apprentices Cann and Myers. Warrilow's debut was Easter Monday at home to Exeter.

Which Torquay will turn up?
I fear it may depend on whether Tonbridge stand back and watch us play or get stuck in and try to stop us from playing.
You would hope the manager would develop a strategy to counter the second scenario but .....
We will miss Dolan's skill and energy badly. He has been brilliant for us.
Really need Lapslie fully fit and raring to go if we are to establish a strong foothold in this game.

De Silva replaces Dolan with Thomas taking his place on the bench.

It was ok today. First 20 minutes we looked more than ok. Think we edged the match and probably deserved the win, although Tonbridge worked hard enough to perhaps warrant a point but they were inferior to us.
I actually think we look a better team without Donellan in the side.

It was ok today. First 20 minutes we looked more than ok.......... I think that is how I'd describe the match as it was uncomfortable to watch at times but I felt that we deserved our win. For me, Marshall was MOM (while he was on the pitch). It was a revelation to see him driving forward, particularly in those few brighter moments when we had the ball in the first half and I hope that the injury is nothing too serious. Mc Gavin was again good on the ball but he blazed his one good chance way over the bar for once. I was near the banner barrier between the fans in the Bench and the second goal was spoilt a bit for me by some goon and his kids jumping up and giving their fans some serious winding up with all the gestures and mouthing off that you could think of. He gave his kids a dreadful behavioural example, I'd not seen him before and I hope he doesn't return - troublemaker. I won't let that spoil the afterglow of another three points in the bag as we clamber our way back into contention.

Colin "kipper" Cowdrey born in Tonbridge. As Jon alludes to be was born in India. His cricket mad father enrolled him at Tonbridge School (a public school) so that he would qualify to play for Kent.

My apologies. You are absolutely correct. He was born on his father's plantation in India. I am claiming a " senior moment". Clearly the stress of supporting Torquay for so many years has taken it's toll.
