Another crucial match against local rivals Taunton coming into this game fresh from win against playoff chasing Worthing. I suppose the main question is whether the weather will let the game be on after heavy rainfall during Saturday’s game although only light rain forecast throughout the day today. link - TUFC match preview

Unchanged. Marshall replaces Nelson on bench.

Dave Thomas is particularly scathing about the Gulls' performance over the first 15 minutes...

Jarvis scores, unfortunately its Matt Jarvis for Taunton after 23 mins or so.
"Absolutely ridiculous" play by Torquay says Dave Thomas.

2-0 to Taunton after 26 minutes.
I'm looking forward to the reports from the ground: the BBC Radio commentary suggests that we are playing out from the back in a way that is beyond the skill levels of the players. If that is correct, then what on earth Is Downes trying to do?

Dreadfully naive defensively, lacking leadership and guile in all of the crucial areas . 61 goals conceded with no light at the end of the tunnel in that regard. Johnsons legacy will take a good while to shake off.

If we got Warnock in NOW, we'd have a better chance of finishing higher up the table than under the current managership team. In my humble opinion...

Absolute shower of shite performance and well beaten by a Taunton side who were quicker, stronger in the tackle, fitter and had a game plan.
Absolute shower of shite performance also from the officials.

Absolute shower of shite performance also from the officials. And Taunton almost broke the cross bar near the end of the match with a cracker of a shot, lucky we didn’t lose 4 - 0 We need to practice more passing to our players in yellow. Need a big bastard of a CB to stop the ariel threat and to dish out a few tasty tackles- wished I’d left after they scored their third. Some nutter near us thought we’d win 4 - 3 🥲 Best team won 🏆

Only positive on the night was the number of Argyle supporters who turned up to show solidarity with us and were spending freely on 50/50 tickets, drinks, etc,and of course, pasties.

Still have to play Taunton, Truro and WSM again, who've already comfortably out- fought and out-played us this season.

Some nutter near us thought we’d win 4 - 3 🥲 Best team won 🏆 Been saying we need a proper defender for two years now its os glaringly obvious yet still the same old story, no organiser, no leader at the back, Moxey is on his last legs and just isn't vocal enough or a captain. 63 bloody goals conceded in a piss poor part time league tells the whole story. If we ever do get the back line functioning and that includes the Keeper who I still do not rate, we may start to have a little bit of success again. Defence and defending is key! Watched on a dreadful stream but gave up after it kept freezing but the freezing picture told a story in that Taunton were disciplined and well drilled defensively with two clear lines of players rebutting our feeble attempts to get through them. Johnsons protoje of five seasons, Aaron Downes, I already feel is not the answer more or less admitting it was down to him how we set up and played into the hands of the part timers and had convinced himself that we were as good as Man city at playing out from the back on a bog of a pitch. Bloody nieve and laughable if you ask me and no different than his stupid predecessor. Already tired of his post match monotone and predictable interviews. Lovely guy as no doubt most of the playing squad are but we desperately need some tactically knowledgeable and blood and guts characters to get tings moving again and that means getting rid of the tired old fixtures and fittings that have been complicite in the clubs demise. Have to congratulate Taunton for being well organised, up for the challenge and tactically switched on considering their financial position.
