Wayne Rooney off to Home Park. Should be interesting. Always liked Argyle....hope he does well. My first thought was this is probably nonsense. Then I realised that Neil Dewsnip, who does a brilliant job as Director of Football at Argyle, was Rooney’s mentor and father figure when he was a kid at Everton. That makes the rumour a little more credible.

With Rooney at Argle and Neil Warnock associated with Torquay football in Devon should get a bit more national coverage.

This calls for an special edition Ivor Dooney Rooney celebration pastie🙄. Cant imagine any argyle fans being Impressed with this appointment in which case hell be starting a very difficult job on the back foot. Massive gamble hope they have built in a get out clause in his three year contract.

So Argyle have now been managed by England’s two most capped players - Peter Shilton and Wayne Rooney.
TUFC have now been managed by Argyle’s two highest appearance makers - Kevin Hodges and Paul Wotton (Wotton joint second with Sammy Black).
In Neil Warnock’s first game as Compo’s advisor at Torquay, Hodges scored the winner past player-manager Shilton as Torquay knocked Argyle out of the Autoglass Trophy.
