Absolutely disgraceful.

Obviously, if he were playing in the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One or Sky Bet League Two, then gambling would be expected, even encouraged, until you are caught (cf Ivan Toney). But in the Vanarama National League he needs to be driving a leased commercial vehicle to please the sponsors.

Incidentally, did anyone know that Sky Bet is owned by Flutter Entertainment who also own Betfair, FanDuel, Paddy Power, PokerStars and Sportsbet? Pick your gambling company but unless its Bet 365 (Stoke City) then you are paying the same company for all most of them. But nothing wrong with having a flutter on the gee-gees is there? 

Of course, don't be confused: Rev Comps is a raffle, and therefore not gambling. Unless you become addicted at buying tickets in which case it has the same long-term effect. 

I could be wrong but I took it as a dig at football encouraging gambling by taking lucrative sponsorship deals and then punishing the people who are encouraged to gamble.

Always gonna happen, its a serious charge and very nieve there's been plenty who have paid the price over the years some banned for life in the 1960's and he would surely have known the consequences of his actions.
No sympathy I'm afraid.

Three games in and we lose two players long term for different reasons.

Players who bet on games need counselling and support...not lengthy bans which deprive them of their livelihood.
The fact that the game is awash with betting company advertising makes lengthy bans even less palatable.

Perhaps also a harsh suggestion, but does the club have to keep forking out his wages for nil return, or can his contract be cancelled?
