link - our second successive home draw in the FA cup as we host a team in the division below us although they beat Ilminster town in the previous round, a side only a couple of places below us in our league, so cannot be underestimated. The women will be full of confidence being unbeaten this season and having won their 4 previous games, including that 12 -0 thumping last Sunday. No game for the men this weekend so if you fancy a game, then it is only a short trip to Newton Abbot Spurs, which is off Avenue Road in Newton Abbot.

3-1 win today against a hard-working Wooten Bassett side and while, not a spectacular performance or anywhere near our best today, we did enough to go through to the first round proper, where we could potentially face a National League side, including the likes of Exeter city and Plymouth Argyle!
I thought Wootton Bassett started the stronger of the two sides and we were on the back foot and struggled somewhat to contain them although without giving them any clear chance on goal. We slowly took control of the game though and started to apply pressure with Ellie Bishop on the left side being our main threat and getting a lot of crosses into the box but without anyone able to get a decent touch on the end of them. Thought their keeper was very good for their level and was solid throughout. We took the lead on the cusp of half time with a free kick out wide fired in with the ball narrowly evading one of our players, but Lucy Solloway was on hand to belt the ball in from around the edge of the 6 yard box giving their keeper no chance whatsoever.
Second half again was bit of a struggle, slow to get going, but around the halfway mark, we managed to double our lead from a corner with substitute Kate McKane firing a shot that was partially blocked by the keeper and defender but just trickled over the line. Shortly after we got a third after another substitute, Chloe Williams was able to get on the end of a cross turn and fire the ball home.
Looked like game , set and match although Wootton then probably had their spell with nothing to lose and went all out to at least get a consolation which they achieved around five minutes from the end with a cross to the left-hand side of the penalty area hit back across our keeper into the bottom right hand corner.
So into the first round proper, we got there two years ago in our last promotion season and as far as I am aware, have never got beyond this point. Draw is out tomorrow where we will find out both our opponents and whether it is home or away.

link - TUFC match report. The news from the draw today is that we have another home fixture this time against Bridgwater Utd - link, who are in the league above, we played them in the league last year, both tight games that we narrowly lost. Time for a bit of payback!

link - slightly belated match report in the Torbay weekly on this game together with the youth side who have both got through to the first round proper of the FA cup. Good though that they are covering this.
