Following a week off and the FA cup match before that we have played the least games in the league and with Forest Green winning 2 games in between, we are now 5 points off the top and in fourth place so this match is quite important to maintain momentum in the league. The "Bishops" are 6 points below us having played 3 games more so hopefully we will have the quality to come away with all three points. I will be travelling up this afternoon and hope to see 2 wins for TUFC over the weekend!

A very comprehensive 0-5 away win today and as you would expect from the score line we were in full control of the game with our keeper not having a serious save and job done with a minimum of fuss.
Bishops Lydeard's club is situated on the outskirts of the village with nice open outlooks towards the Quantocks with the pitch sloping from left to right as you look at it from the main stand and clubhouse. We had the advantage of playing downhill in the first half and it did not take long for top scorer Lucy Solloway to get the first from short range a few minutes into the game.
We kept up the pressure and doubled the lead midway through the half when what looked like a Sam Burnham cross on the left side to the far post ended up going into the top right hand corner. As the half drew to a close our own bishop, Ellie, always dangerous on the left wing was able to slip inside their back line and knock the ball past their keeper from close range.
We had five changes for the second half taking off some of our better players with Lucy Palmer at right back, Ellie Bishop on the left and particularly Tee Kaptein and Tracey Cross in midfield but started like the first with an early Lucy Solloway close range goal. The changes did mean we had to defend a little more as Bishops Lydeard got some purchase into the game, also helped by being able to play down the slope but with very little end product.
With rolling substitutes we were able to bring back the above players onto the field for the last quarter of the game and Lucy Palmer was able to get the fifth and very well deserved too as she was full of running today and a constant threat making overlapping runs when going forward. So five goals to the good and didn't even need to play at our very best.
