New Board at Weymouth announced with Ian Ridley as Chairman and Dave Higson as Vice-Chair.
Fantastic news for the Terras who seem to have gathered all the top local talent to the cause - much as we finally managed to do.
Of course, they will have to limp out the remainder of the season making the most of loan and free agent signings - much the same as we were doing two years ago.
Well done to everyone at Weymouth - best of luck for the future!

Yep. Good luck to them and their fans.
I seem to recall this consortia stating a week or so ago that they would likely need to enter administration and take a 10 point deduction now. Relegation being viewed as a necessary evil. Is that right?
Edit: Yes, it seems they did.

Phil you are such a hard heartless man at times ;D you should not forget our very own Webb days and even more recently the Roberts ones.
This is all about a town saving its club and that club has fans just like us, when we had Webb we had a rubbish team all season and most teams were nearly guaranteed the points.
Good luck to Weymouth and I'm pleased for all who love and support the club.

Clubs post, all their players leaving are all but guaranteed three points. Is their position unique (i.e. 90% of the first team squad leaving at once). Seen at keyboard shaking fist in the air muttering "ruddy Weymouth"

You may not have noticed after 'depressing saturday'that the Weymouth manager Alan Lewer has been sacked 'due to losing the last 11 games' and replaced by Bobby Gould. If anybody could hold their head high during this shambolic affair it would be Mr Lewer whom I suspect with his coaching abilies will hopfully be soon reemployed.

It does seem a bit unfair that Alan Lewer was sacked, if it was due to results how could he be expected to win games, when he only had boys to pick from instead of men. It can’t be put down to trying to save money as I’m sure Bobby Gould will be paid a fair amount.
Weymouth town desperately want to stay in the top flight of the BSP, but as they are now in a relegation spot and not really having any more experienced players to call on, you would expect them to drop back down to the BSP South.
It looks almost certain that Weymouth will have to go part time next season anyway and we have talked on here about what standard of part time players would want to play for any team in the Southwest of England.
Players who want to earn big in their full time job will be working and living around the cities and not in Weymouth where the wages are low as they are here in Torbay. It therefore makes perfect sense that any that wants to also play football at the highest level possible without having to give up their full time jobs, will look for teams close to where they work and live.
Therefore even if Weymouth could stay up this season, they would struggle to attract any decent part time players and would be on course to struggle again next season. It’s my view they would be far better to take the drop and then might find they would be able to be far more competitive at the lower level than trying to compete with clubs like ours, who do have more money to spend on player’s wages etc.
It is so often the case that you need to take a fall in order to rebuild and then try and move up the ladder, its what has happened to our club, but then we did lose 80 years of league history, due mainly to one man.
I’m glad that Weymouth the football club has been saved, its now owned and run by people who are fans much like it is at TUFC, they do have the club at heart and not out looking for some property deal or other. I wish them all the best for the future and who knows one day they may rise back up and being playing us again, but if that was to happen I hope we would be by then a well established league club again

Sorry Dave but they should be chucked out of the BSP and all results removed.

Sorry Dave but they should be chucked out of the BSP and all results removed. We could have done with that. They're are out of this league, deserved I may say. Absolutely agree with those sentiments, and no matter how it may affect OUR club; I still think now that they're down anyway All their points should be taken away and their results declared null and void. They've been involved in games where their was a betting coup, then games that had to be declared "null and void" for betting purposes, fielded a joke of youth team in selective games and failed to fulfill a fixture on the day of the game. If Cambridge ultimately fail to win the championship over Burton Albion who had the free gift of a five nil away win at Weymouth Youth FC by the current narrow goal differences; what does that say for the integrity of the BSP? I'll tell you what it says, it says that the Chairman and Chief Executive of the BSP ~ Brian Lee and Dennis Strudwick are patently unfit for purpose and should be removed forthwith!
