Some may remember I offered to sponsor Joe Barlow in his Santa Run, well I forgot to pay him and I got a PM asking if I could send it to him.
No problem at all, so I left a printed copy of the PM for Carol as it had Joe's address on it this morning and then set of for work. I phoned Carol on my hands free around 9.30am as I turned into an industrial estate in Bideford.
Carol wanted to make sure she put the right name on the payment, so she asked me, I said make it out to Phillip.J.Barlow So Carol asked if Joe was not his first name then, as I had put Joe down and she could not see Phillip on the piece of paper I had left her.
So why did I say Phillip? well when I had turned on to the estate I then had to turn right and as I did I nearly hit a very big artic lorry backing into a factory. As I looked up to the driver in the cab, Carol asked the question, in very big letters above the windscreen of the cab, was the company name. Phillip.J.Barlow a freight company and I must have read it out loud and down the phone to Carol. What are the odds of that happening? Or is Joe somehow haunting me.

Well I like to get my name around Dave.
Interesting to see how my name appears in other places I have no connection with.
In Manchester where I lived for 5 years, I lived on a road called `Barlow Moor Road` The school right opposite where I lived was called `Barlow High`. When I was in Warrington with my sister, Alana we seen a shop called `Alana`s and Joe`s` which is still running I think. Also there is the Barlow family in Coronation Street and when I went Cuthbert Mayne School I was always called Ken by my teachers and mate, and they were always asking how Deirdre was.
I`m trying to think where else my name pops up as I sure there were a few places I seen it.
Thanks for that Uncle Dave

Barlow is a quite popular footballing name in consideration of the number of Barlows in the country. There was Ray Barlow who scored in a FA Cup final for West Brom and I think represented England! Mind you, I know his son, who couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo!
