At first glance it may be thought this is in the wrong part of the forum... but read on...
In a previous thread I placed some pictures of Darlington's old ground, Feethams, having visited it last year.
I failed to mention one thing about that visit... (Two things actually, the other being that I had the future Mrs E. with me and she being a young, attractive and vibrant girl I wondered whether this slight abberation may've put her off the impending nuptials, but no, she seems to love me whatever! Very strange, but I had given her an idea of what was to come the day before when we just happened to visit Redheugh Park, the old Gateshead ground, pictures of which I may post at a later date.)
Anyway, what I failed to mention is that having visited the aforementioned Feethams we returned to the car and I produced what many may consider the most useless piece of football memorabilia known to mankind... a small piece of the painted concrete from the back wall of the home terrace... As we sat in the car, glee writ large across my face, there was a rather long and stunned silence. I was thinking at this point that the soon-to-be wife was actually as excited as I was with this acquisition. Then I heard a long sigh and a small voice say 'hmmm, ok' and then nothing more. I tried to explain that this was something that would be a memory of our trip away together before we finally tied the knot, that we'd look at it in months, even years, to come and it would remind us of carefree, happy days spent together. She turned and replied, 'the only thing that will remind me of is what a knob-nuts you really are!'...
Anyway, i'd like to now show you my contender for this award, followed by a picture (similair to others i've used elsewhere) of the said wall....
