Now some of you may think that this seasons improved run in has been down to training ground hardwork, tactics from an astute manager or financial support from the board. You will of course be forgiven for thinking this. I can tell you catagorically that these things whilst they may have helped have not made the real difference. the real difference is the fact that I have stopped listening on the radio!! I am telling you, every soddin time I listen we go a goal down, If I am away and cannot listen we win. To prove this point I listened to the first half yesterday, turned the radio off and only back on at 5.........................you know the rest. It just happens every time. Please someone, come around to my house, break all the radios, send me on holiday...............Just do something to stop me listening to the games!

I know exactly what you mean! I have days like that also.
Take yesterday for example. Got back from town, turned on the radio and a minute later, Northwich scored.
Took the dog out for a walk at half time ( Generally pace up and down when listening to the radio anyway ) and was pleased to hear when I got back that we had scored only for Northwich to score again!
Obviously for the good of the club I had to turn the radio off......

Gee thanks Aussie, what a kind offer Yes and the forum will be running another appeal very soon, we are trying to get enough money to buy Merse a special keyboard for him to use. It will have some letters removed by default and will automatically change any words he chooses to use to rubbish Devon and its people, into words that will sing their praises. If we do not get enough money I will put some new words into the forum censored word list, one way or the other I'll stop the bugger

Do we really believe that anything we do will effect the result? Jamie feels he needs to stop listening to the radio as when he does we go a goal behind. Someone suggested last week that I should stay away from the next home match, because I did not go to the last one and we won handsomely.
Some wear their lucky pants or socks to every game and firmly believe it will make a difference to the result. Now I really don't buy the argument, TUFC would have still won the last home game had I gone or not, but is there anything you do before a match, or do you always wear something you think is lucky to the games you go?

Interesting point dave. At what point does superstition become psychosis or OCD? Ok I made a fairly light hearted point but I think at some level we all have silly ideas about affecting outcomes. How many of us have gone to the loo to make us score? How many of used to turn the channel over on teletext from ceffax to see if by doing so the goal we had just gone one down on had actually been disallowed? What about fans who try and park in the same place each game, or same seat? or walk the same way to a game? Lucky pants? Now you are talking? My favourite story was the Nick Hornby classic of going to see Cambridge U against the grecians (of all teams) . He went to buy some sugar mice on the way but dropped them outside the shop. Cambridge went on to win 4-0. As a result he had to keep going to the same shop, buying the same mice and dropping them in the same spot until Cambridge actually lost a game. Is it only me who identifies (just a litle bit!) with this? One thing I have always thought about is the football players who have to be last onto the pitch (can't remember who), What happens if there are two players who have to be last onto the pitch in the same game? One thing that worries me is that as a psychiatric nurse I should know better!!

Its nice to have you back Jamie and I hope you have enjoyed your great new experience as a campervan owner, if you do have any great pictures you would like to share with us please feel free to post them on the forum.
I do not have anything I wear or must do before I go to a game, so you have a lucky pair of pants and you win three games on the trot. What happens when you lose the next game, do you throw the pants in the bin? that is after you have kicked them, ripped them to bits as losing had to be their fault.
I take the view what will happen will, me being there in some red ladies pants that I once thought were lucky will not really have any effect to what happens on the pitch. The only time they would was if I dropped my trousers ;D

Dave i have this habit of going to the bar 5 minutes before halftime and I have missed 10 goals this season. If you pay me to stay in the bar we would then score every 5 minutes. Eddy ;D ;D ;D
