Stuartb I have not been to Wales since the weekend on the 14/05/2005, it’s a weekend that I will never forget and one no one can every take away from me. It was a weekend full of happiness. Full of joy and dare I say love. Little did I know that weekend the heartache and pain that would follow less than one month on, but I could never regret the weekend happening.
Lucinda Marie was just three and a half years old when I ended my marriage, I did not have a choice there was no other way, Ant just under 14 years old left when I did, but sadly Lucinda was used as a tool to cause pain and hurt.
I battled for over five years in the courts to keep access with my princess, often going months without being able to get to see her. Then one day I bumped into my old next door neighbour and asked her if she had seen Lucinda and if so was she alright.
“Don’t you know” she said, “her and her mum moved to Wales last week” No I did not know and I was unable to find out where in Wales my daughter had been taken too and eight long years then passed without any contact with her.
Then out of the blue near the end of April 2005 I received a phone call from Lucinda, she was down in Torbay for the day to see her Nan and said she would like to see me but was scared. I told her come to the house and that she should feel free to leave if she felt uncomfortable. It went well and she asked Carol and me to go and stay with her and her boyfriend on the weekend of the 14/04/2005.
Just 17 years old and she told me that she left home over 8 months before and went to live with her boyfriends parents in a place called Pencarder., only now they had got a small flat in the village. The weekend soon was upon us and Carol and I set of to find Pencarder, it really was a magical weekend.
I told Lucinda that she needed to tell her mum she had met me, I do not believe in deceit, sadly Lucinda was still under the powerful spell of her mother, who was not happy that Lucinda wanted to have her dad back in her life. My phone calls went unanswered and then the hate mail arrived and I failed to understand how such a great weekend had turned into such hate being directed and both myself and Carol.
Still Carol and I had other things to deal with and a life to get on with, there are so many pictures I took that weekend, some I find hard to look at still, but like I said I did spend a magic weekend with my princess and I have the memories to always treasure.
Below are just some of the pictures taken that weekend, some in Pencarder and some in other village, some were from near the forest where they do the rally racing, the last few were at the place where the castle was I went too.
