What a big day and game this is going to be, a big day for the club thats for sure but I will come to that in a second or two.
Its a big day for the Torquay Fans Forum as it holds its first match day cavery event, but also a special day for Lewis the mascot, who's day is going to be all the better thanks to the kindness of the members of this forum.
I think when I get home from the game I'm going to we worn out, but I know I can then sit down and reflect on what a great day it was and the team winning will be the icing on the cake.
Three points has to be the order off the day and a draw or defeat would dent our hopes of being in the play-offs, I'm sure all at the club will be doing all they can, to try and get those points in the bag.
Is Mansell likely to be fit? if so he must surely slot back into the rightback position and then move Robertson along side Todd. Hodges has not been doing so well lately in defense and maybe a place on the bench will be the best he can hope for.
Hargreaves has also been of the boil a little but I can't see him not stating the game along side Wroe. I also feel Bucks will stick with Carlisle on the left and could also keep Dsane on the right, I would prefer to see Carayol start or even give Green a chance out on the right, I know he is a forward but with his pace he could be the man to get good balls into the box.
Sills and Sturrock will start up front for sure and I think we will get the result we require.

Whilst drinking my small bottle (284ml) of Stella which is half empty, nothing less than 3 points will do this Saturday I'm afraid. To play well would be a bonus, to play well, with style and thrash them within an inch of their lives would be a Brucie bonus.
I think we will be hard pushed to catch Burton, Cambridge (who seem not to play well but win) and Histon. The two places (for me) will be between us and Stevenage.
Should be a good day all 'round and well done Dave for organising this event - perhaps an annual one?

OK, we have just had our last mid week break of the season with the last slog of the season ending with games on Saturday, Monday, Saturday, Monday, Saturday, Tuesday and then finally on Sunday. With the play offs starting in the following week. With a lot of hard physical games in there starting with Kettering, maybe the time has come to make some tough choices in respect of squad rotation and earlier substitutions. Hargreaves in particular, Sills, Hodges and to a lessor extent, Nicholson spring to mind. With Kettering and Burton having played in mid week maybe there is a slight advantage there, particularly with the number of games Kettering have clocked up recently. In the context of the play offs Kettering is the most pressing and would play a team something like this: Bevan Robertson Todd Ellis Nicholson Carlisle Wroe Hargreaves Dsane Sills Sturrock Have assumed Mansell is not quite ready yet and maybe two games in three days would be pushing it so soon after an injury. Hopefully back on Monday. Also think Ellis will be up for a more physical battle.

I think as things have developed this week, this has taken on the status of a ‘must-win’ game for me. With all the other challengers winning as required (and Kettering getting a point at Champions-elect Burton), it’s become a case of seeing who will break first. Whichever of the contenders slips up now will struggle to recover, because nobody else is dropping points. If we beat Kettering, I think they’d be out of it. If we get beat, at this vital stage with some tricky fixtures coming up, it would provide a serious jolt to our own aspirations. A draw is no great help to either team.
Cambridge and Histon look pretty comfortable within those Play-off positions now. That leaves 2 places between ourselves, Kiddie, Stevenage and Kettering. Kiddie are playing superbly and will be tough to stop, Stevenage are playing well too, but have a tricky looking run-in. A win on Saturday would have it down to 3 teams fighting for 2 places…

Yes looks like 2 from 4. With kiddie safest bet. Saturdays game is another like Aldershot at home last season.
Both Kettering & Utd have tough run ins. Defeat for either could put a serious dent in chances for making the play offs. So for me avoiding defeat is the number one priority, sneak a win & brilliant.
Given the sad news relating to hodges father I wonder if he will not be available.

Agree--all the games are now coming thick and fast. In an ideal world obviously some players should/could be rested but can you imagine the "PB anti brigade" if he did this and we lost??--You can hear the abuse now cant you?
As others have said lets keep calm and avoid defeat on saturday--and I look forward to seeing plenty of Gulls at Burton on monday.
Off topic--Dave you have done a fantastic job arranging Saturday--been great to follow on this terrific forum...Well Done

The starting line up and formation will be interesting for this game.
The first half at their place was a poor performance against the biggest/Tallest back four i have EVER seen. Although we now have Sturrock who will start and he looked to be a lot stronger than Benyon.
Bucks went to see them play on Tuesday, so armed with that and the lessons learnt from the previous game i would hope that we would be more than prepared for this game. I have to say I am quietly confident.
Kettering played Tuesday so maybe that might help. But i still fancy Bucks to get the team/squad/formation right and for us to get at them in the first 20 minutes, get an early goal to settle the nerves (of everyone), before going on to win the game.
Providing we get 3 points, the rest of the fixtures should see to it that we cement our position in the play off spots.

Tough match folowed by another and I doubt very much that Burton will be easing up. 3 points required min for the 2 games anything more would be a bonus anything less and the "wobble effect" could gather momentum.

Better late than never................... TEAM: (4-4-2) Bevan. Mansell, Robertson, Todd, Nicholson. Carlisle, Wroe, Hargreaves, D'sane. Sills, Sturrock. Subs: Benyon, Hodges, Caryol, Stevens, Christie. One nil up through Robertson on 20 minutes and sounding well on top.

Hopefully the lads can put in the same performence as in the first half and score that important second goal.

Mon Mome's got a better looking trainer than Torquay United.......................... Venetia Williams is the mature man's totty (well better looking than Sean North anyway!) AND she drives an Aston Martin!

The longest priced winner jointly with Foinavon when they all seemd to fall over not merely MY horse, and the beautiful Venetia's the first Cornish woman I've seen without the single eye in the middle of the forehead! The learned Merse notes on Mon Mome? ..........................."too small for this race" and yes; Himalayan Trail DID only make the first fence. courtesy: www.talkingbollox.com ;D
