what an afternoon can' t wait to read the reports lets hope we get more info that radio devon awful commentary today not a good day at the office think i need to go take my blood pressure pill and have a lie down Hope the Salisbury guy Griffin is ok

At the end of the day a point is better than nothing at all and you do wonder if we even deserved to get that today. Not to sure about the team selection or the substitutions and will wait to read the reports later.
I do know that if you get three penalties in one game you have to ask why we did not win the game, we really seem to have lost form at just the wrong time I’m afraid. Still we have not lost our play-off spot but we really can’t afford any more slip ups as we will find Histon grabbing the spot we now still hold.
This is Torquay United and anything can still happen and probably will so now is not the time to lose heart or give up hope, we need to keep believing and giving our support. Please tell me what else we can do? It really is not all over yet believe me and our season could still turn out the way we all want it too

Agreed dave now is not the time for knee -jerk reactions as can be read on the other site - sack Buckle etc etc.
It is still in our own hands but the sudden loss of form is particularly worrying and with he next match against the real form side of the division and Histon to play Weymouth next week things are looking decidedly wobbly. Who would have thought after we won so well at Burton that it would look like this just a week later?
My guess is we will have to beat Burton again on the last day to be sure of a play off spot.

You`d have thought we`d know better by now but no! Two points definitely thrown away, no not thrown away as much as flushed down the shitter, guess it`s gunna be penalty practice and some hard core defensive lessons this week at the race course. I can hear the Fat Bastard warming her vocals already, so very not happy!  |

Await the reports with interest - not a good weekend with 1 point out of 6, not play off form.

I had to cancel my trip to Salisbury due to a family bereavement this morning and whilst travelling back to Devon had to endure the radio coverage of the match. Waiting for them to mention the score whilst they replayed the penalty that we managed to put in the net was frustrating enough but when they cut to an update from something like Ilfracombe v Barnstaple with some amateur on a mobile who sounded like he was cottaging in a public toilet was infuriating!
It is a shame that seven days after the win at Burton we are basically looking very shakey in our push to get a play-offs. Wroe's equaliser remarkably keep us in with a chance of extending our season when it was looking extremely doubtful whether the squad had it in them. I'm not very sure that they will pull it off as the season slips-away.
I've considered the various permutations that can occur - even if we are defeated at Stevenage next weekend we could still do it, but it all depends which Torquay United turns-up. If we don't get 4 points out of the next 3 games then we don't deserve a shot at promotion.
Maybe if Hargreaves (did he have anything wrong in particular or was he just rested today?) and Sturrock can shake-off injuries ahead of next week then we stand a better chance.
Looks like the only use for the Burton vouchers will be as toilet paper - pretty much the only bloody thing that Brough's contract is good for next season.......
I await the match reports with interest.
As the others say - no point being anything but supportive and positive when that team run across the line. There's 270'ish minutes still to play - hopefully more!
Finally - I hope to hear Charlie Griffin is OK after a nasty sounding accident.

The question remains `Was Brough playing for us or them?` only joking Micheal, I would never say that and actually mean it, but I bet some might give it a thought! Sorry to hear that Ohtobe, my condolences sincerefully!

So sorry to hear your sad news ohtobeatplainmoor. such news makes a football result feel so not very important. I do despair at times when things go wrong how some fans then demand the manager should go.
I'm concerned as the next fan about our remaining games and what results we will get, but in my world you cling to every bit of hope thats on offer, because without it, you might just as well throw the towel in now and that for me is never ever going to be an option.

Thanks gents. I had to look at the black humour as I raced back into the 1458mw frequency around Bridgewater trying to hear he crap they were coming-out with on the radio (not DT - just Radio Devon in general) whilst it was interspersed with Radio Iraq coming-through on the airwaves!!

Not long back from Salisbury. A game in which I was grateful for the point by the end of it. We started slowly and only really woke up when Salisbury hit the post. After that it was all us until mid-way through the first half, which included the two penalties. A cracking equalizer from Salisbury and it was a case of wishing for the half-time whistle as they looked likely to score another.
I was surprised Roscoe was taken off so early in the second half as he'd been having a good game. That said, Carayol put in a nice cameo run culminating with a shot scuffed wide - but then nothing. Sills seemed to play too deep (defence) after his penalty miss, often leaving the industrious Benyon to chase down lost causes. I don't think anyone played particularly badly or well, to be honest, though Wroe was fairly ineffectual bar the goal and 10 lively minutes in the second half.
Have to go. Am being hassled.

Started playing towards our fans with a strong wind in our faces. From the off we played hoof ball and totally by passed the midfield. The players huffed and puffed but struggled to get any pattern to their game. Long balls up to Benyon were the order of the day but sadly he was knocked aside time and time again despite trying hard.
Sills was again man marked and although he more often than not got the better of his marker, his flick ons only found their players.
As said we never played the ball on the ground and it was some time into the half before Michael Brough touched the ball. Playing without Hargreaves left us very jittery at the back and Todd was having a bit of a mare today.
Still the referee, who obviously thought the crowd had paid to see him, awarded us two penalties which were cut and dried. The first was the most deliberate handball since that of Maradonna which did not result in a card for the offender and was then struck against the bar by Tim Sills. Well, just as we were thinking it was not our day the chap in black gave us another one when Benyon was scythed down. No card again and this time Carlisle put it away well.
Hoof ball continued and Salisbury deservedly equalised before half time. Oh well we are always better in the second half…aren’t we?
No. Again we tried to keep hitting it up to our two strikers both of whom were pushed about at will by a good Salisbury defence.
Penalty number three and up steps Wayne to see his well taken attempt saved by their keeper. Not going to be our day thinks the 835 hardy souls up from Devon! Green, Christie and Caryol brought a freshness to the team with Muzzy playing well.
Then a Salisbury player kept the ball on the ground, ran with the ball, first past Mansell, then Todd, then Robinson and squared it for their striker to put it past Bevan 1-2.
An own goal in the dying seconds meant a point each.
Referee diabolical.
Crowd tried hard but disheartened by the show in front of them.
Team performance not good enough to frighten anyone in the play offs and certainly not League two standard.
I expect to be told that I was watching a different game by some, but in my eyes we do not look capable of stepping up a gear anymore. I really hope I am wrong.
